Axe is mode is pretty good. Use to rack up some damage from safe distances. The "Infinite" move has a great finisher that can go into Sword mode instantly. Basic combo is XAXA repeat.

You don't lose anything in the first place because the Save Data is kept separate from the install. You could use DevMenu to simply over-write the install. Not sure if FBI can do that, it might require the uninstall. Your save will be fine.
On a side note, your v7 might actually be v8, as the version floating around contains Dasding's initial blunder of not updating the title screen.

Bushido SnS is awful. It turns your following attacks into an upledge attack which can be executed anywhere, but that's awfully slow and just sets you up for getting hit.
