>As Max and Chloe are leaving the ruins of Arcadia Bay behind, there's one more tragic story unfolding
>Alice and Lisa stuck in Max's room, Alice hasn't eaten anything in days, the dorms are destroyed and no one comes looking for them
>"No one's gonna come save us, this is the end, we'll starve to death..."
>Alice...you can survive this and go back to your owner. All you have to do is... all you have to do is eat me."
>"What? No, fuck that. Lisa, you're my number one priority, I'm not eating you!"
>"Alice, think about it... how many times this week did you try to nibble my leafs? I'm a plant, Alice, you're a bunny, maybe it's time I accept my destiny... OUR destiny."
>"Lisa, I can't make this choice!"
>"No Alice, you're the only one who can"

>eat Lisa
>eat your own foot

>"No one here."
>"Wait, look, it's a bunny! Poor thing, it's half starved to death. Looks like it's alive though."
>Spanish Sahara starts playing
>close-up shot of Alice being carried out by a firefighter. What little remained of Lisa is seen as reflection in her big, dark eyes

Forget the horror here...

>You're sitting in photography class
>Class lets out, most students rush out the door so they can start the weekened
>You're spaced out and staring at Ms. Caulfield as she finishes her work for the day
>She's a little odd but you think she's incredibly attractive
>Her little mannerisms, childish phrases, affinity for selfies. It's all so cute and yet hot at the same time
>She's talking with another student at her desk
>The student leaves
>Ms. Caulfield is picking up her stuff and getting ready to leave
>You sit on your phone (Or so she thinks), but in reality you're just watching her
>She drops a stack of papers a few feet from your desk and silently mutters a curse
>She bends over to pick them up
>Your heart begins to beat faster
>You're enjoying the view when someone else enters the room
>She's some girl, obviously too old to be a student, with blue hair
>She sees you looking at Ms. Caulfield and she walks towards her
>The blue haired girl gives Ms. Caulfield, who has her back facing you, a pretty passionate kiss
>They're hugging
>The blue haired woman glares directly at you and mouths a single word which you can clearly decipher
>'mine'
>Ms. Caulfield tells you goodbye and they walk out, the blue haired girl with her arm around her waist
>You sit there waiting for your dad to come pick you up since you don't have a car yet
>You get a text from him saying he's at the front of the school waiting
>You walk out and see him in the same blue shitbox, that looks like it rolled over at some point, that he's had since he was a teen
>You get in the car and your dad starts to drive
>In the rear view mirror you see Ms. Caulfield getting on the back of a motorcycle that's being controlled by the other woman
>Both you and your father sigh

>photography class is first class of the morning for the next day, you are hyped to see miss Caulfield again
>a bit scared because you didn't do her homework, might get a lecture from her
>strangely you don't mind a lecture from her
>miss Caulfield walks in. Your eyes beamed with enthusiasm
>she's dressed in her usual, sophisticated and 'artsy' attire, a beige skinny pants with a white t shirt, with some sort of abstract graphic, and a checkered shirt on the outside.
>your heart flutters
>"good morning class, I am sure all of you have done your photography assignment on the "shots of nature", can all of you pass your work in front?"
>everyone walks towards her desk, except you, you are sitting there in your desk, slightly nervous, but carefully watching miss Caulfield meticulously arranging the photos, putting them into some sort of folders
>everyone goes back to their seat
>miss Caulfield looks around her desk, and suddenly her eyes fixed towards you. Your stomach sank
>"Gramham, I don't see your work here, could you pass it in front?"
>"uh.. Uh.."
>miss Caulfield sighs and folds her arms
>"that is not cool, gramham. See me after class"
>".. Yes miss Caulfield"
>you feel like you died a little inside, as if you have let miss Caulfield down. Now she's bound to look at you as the problematic kid.
>class ends, and everyone packs to leave.
>"goodbye class, and gramham, don't you leave yet"
>you see her staring at you, not angrily, but annoyingly. It's quite obvious that she doesn't want to be in this situation, that she doesn't even want to talk to you at all
>you realize this, and your stomach sank again. Nevertheless, you stood up and walked towards her, your eyes fixated on a thousand angles but just not at her
>"so gramham, I assume you didn't do my homework?"
>"yes miss Caulfield.. "
>"well why not? Don't you have enough amount of time to do it?"
>"yes Caulfield."

>"gramham, I will give you one more day to finish the assignment alright?"
>"well miss Caulfield.. Ermm.."
>you pull out the instant camera from your bag, its clearly damaged and non functioning.
>"it's just that.. My camera died on me a few days ago"
>"hey.. This camera.. Where did you got it?"
>"uhh.. My dad gave it to me a few weeks ago for photography class. I told him to get me a DSLR, but he said this will do"
>you expected miss Caulfield to be less empathic, but her eyes lighted up at the sight of the antique, and she politely took the camera, looking at it, like a child looking at a toy
>"well, your dad isn't wrong at all"
>"uh huh.."
>miss Caulfield proceeds to tinker around with the camera, looking at it from all angles.
>finally, she seem to focus on a particular area of the camera, and nodded to herself knowingly, like as if she just found out the root of the problem
>"well gramham, if you don't mind, could you leave your camera with me? I should be able to fix it"
>"but, what about the home-"
>"don't worry about that, I will lend you one of my DSLR. In fact, let's go get it now shall we?"
>"okay, miss Caulfield"
>you watched her pack her stuff, and carefully sliding that antique instant camera into her bag. She seemed so delighted, so nostalgic. like a adult looking back into their toys they played as a kid
>"I used to have one of these. My girlfriend gave it to me a few years ago"
>"oh I see.."
>your mind goes crazy at the word girlfriend, everything that has held you all along seem to fall down right now. You can't even focus on anything, just looking around frantically. Nevertheless, you forced a weak smile, feigning interest.
>"what happened to it then, miss Caulfield?"
>"well.. That's a long story. Come on, let's go now."
>miss Caulfield strolls out of the class, in her usual, slow, gentle unwavering motions.
>you follow behind her, not knowing what will come next..

Someone continue please

so uh

i basically played this game in one sitting with a friend and some tea and

to be honest i'm not seeing the horrible salt generated by the ending for most people here

like yeah it did the game a disservice in my opinion but i don't really know what I was expecting- not once did i think i'd see the ending to this game with chloe alive, so i'm glad we got what we did, even.

the way that I justify it is that if the game is using a multiverse sort of situation then jumping back and experiencing Nathan killing Chloe is just contributing to the problem- if you're just jumping into another max in another universe, then you're just depriving another max of a history/future/whatever. the universe you end up in- and by extension the chloe you can spend the bae ending with- are the one you're supposed to choose simply because you're not supposed to use your time powers anymore. you're supposed to live with the consequences of your stupid recklessness.

or at least that's what i tell myself
>>

Episode 5 is actually the overall highest rated of all the episodes, despite a couple sites giving it low scores. Which is not to say the endings didn't generate any controversy, but it's just way overblown here.

There were various theories going around about how people wanted it to end, and instead it ended with a genre cliche that everyone was hoping it wouldn't end with, and salt has ensued ever since.

My problem with the ending isn't just that is was predictable. It's that nothing was explained and there was no sense of closure.

Really? You didn't think it might give you a chance to win, via some clever mechanic they'd introduce? You didn't want to become Max Caulfield, Time Master Extraordinaire, and show the universe who's boss AND get the girl?
I'm disappointed in you.

A lot of people felt the same, that one ending was supposed to be the desired one because it as longer. But according to Dontnod they didn't have the money to make the scene longer. If anything the ending they were driving you towards, though the dialogue and journal writings, was saving Chloe.
Oh and if you wanted a longer ending watch this

I can understand the sentiment. I was concerned that Life is Strange might try to clumsily ape the success of other recent games with dramatic storylines like The Last of Us or The Walking Dead. Sadly Episode 5 justified that fear with its rampant misery porn. We should count ourselves lucky there was an option for Chloe to survive at all.
>>

>>
>>127713053
The entire episode is lackluster and hardly in the spirit of the series overall. It's a a dead body of evidence for how much dontnod struggled to keep it all together when they finally had to. Everything was magnificently mysterious and tense until it wasn't.
The ratings were worse and for the first time dontnod had to do damage control. There's a lot of criticism from people that loved the series. A predictable ending alone doesn't turn people from absolutely loving the game to spitting salt. Talking about a "dogpile" of 40-50 people that are "salty about the endings" is delusional.

I'm not going to try to convince you that you're not objectively right, I'm merely pointing out that not everyone hates the endings as much as this thread does. If you think everyone is stupid aside from the people in this thread, that's your prerogative.

>>127713613
I think Bay was just longer because they had more story to tell since Max had to go back in time and everything had to play out to bring her back up to current time on the cliff. If you compare the actual closing scenes after time catches back up, they're comparable in length.
>>
>>127713053
>The reaction to the ending at large wasn't bad, this thread is just a dogpile of people who hated it. Episode 5 is actually the overall highest rated of all the episodes
False, Tumblr openly hates it too, I've seen a fair few streamers hating it without even looking for them, and even the most generous reviews I've read acknowledged the finale wasn't quite up to par.
>>
>>127714369
I could see that actually happening: People who don't know Max and Chloe questioning their relationship.
Especially other Blackwell students we meet in game. If they know Chloe it's probably not for a good reason (Or because she hung out with Rachel).
So to see a punk that got expelled with Max Caulfield would seem really odd. Probably like Max herself was trying to rebel against something.
But when someone gets to know them they would see how genuine it was.
Plus as someone said a few thread back, Chloe would raise Max up the Blackwell foodchain.

I really don't get this shift towards epic dramatic stories in videogames. It used to be so simple - shoot the bad guys, save the world. Little could go wrong. Game of Thrones popularized the concept of constantly killing off major characters for shock value.

It's great when used properly (and sparingly), but killing off everyone just for the sake of it makes it pointless.

Did characters like Victoria and Nathan really have to die? (Disregarding the final choice).

You were saying it is overblown. I understood that to mean you think there's no reason to hate it as much as we do. If you do, you are wrong (in my opinion, of course). If you simply, observationally so to say, wanted to point out that people on average don't dislike the ending, or final episode as a whole, as much as people here do: Fair enough - I guess they don't.
But you did go on to talk about how the cliche endings made people salty, implying that would be the primary reason people took issue with the final episode. Structurally I don't even find the endings so bad. There's a ton of other stuff I dislike about it and the entire episode though.

Listening to this.
Some of the highlights so far:
-She wants to do an album at some point
-She got a file early on about the story and some of the major events, but it didn't reveal who the killer was (She was shocked it was Jefferson)
-She cried after doing some of the lines and had to just sit and calm down
-She held a nerf gun during scenes where she was supposed to sound more powerful
she hasn't played the game herself and says -she doesn't know if she can play the game because she's scared she didn't do good enough
-In general she's just very shy and self-conscious (Says her voice sounds "Stupid and annoying)

About half way through and god damn Hannah really is Max. The insecurities, the shyness, all of it. I hope this role gave her some more confidence and makes her stop doubting herself.

It's overblown compared to the overall reaction. I simply think the main issue people have with it here is that it didn't fulfill a lot of the theories that people wanted it to address, like I'm assuming you're the guy who really wanted it to incorporate Rachel a hell of a lot more. It isn't that the ending being cliche made people salty, but that it being the cliche ending instead of what they wanted.

Please, LiS is hardly breaking any new ground with this adolescent misinterpretation of tragedy. This is bargain basement YA, the only reason it looks any fancier is because it's disguised as a video game.

At least 'shoot bad guys, save world' knows what it's trying to accomplish, even if it's setting the bar low. LiS just shot for the stars and fell flat on it's face, and now everyone can see it's nickers, the drunk slag.
If it makes any contribution at all to the game industry, it'll simply be by proving that there's a market for drama games in the hoards of pissed off players it's abandoned, and by hopefully inspiring more competent writers to do what it failed to do.
And even then, Telltale already had that covered in turning the most classic shoot-em-up zombie concept on it's head and repackaging it into a CYOA human drama about keeping the peace and making responsible choices, to great success.
So really, LiS has brought nothing new to the table, done nothing interesting with up and coming formulas, has if anything dragged gaming back a few with it's retarded binary ending even after Bioshock long since loudly proved that people are sick of that shit already, and overall just doesn't need to exist at all.

Hannah seems like a mix of Max and Kate.
As mentioned she's shy and insecure like Max, but she's also like Kate in that she's dealt with depression and is religious.

------------------------------------------------------
Also from the last half of the interview:
Oh and her answer is to Bae vs Bay is to save Arcadia Bay. She says who's sure that the tornado will be the end of everything? But Michel addressed this and said it would just be the Tornado.
Also that all the people dying would weight on both Max's and Chloe's relationship.
She also said that if it was actually her in Max's shoes with the choice, she wouldn't know what to pick.

(I can see where she's coming from. But I think that they would get through it as long as they're together.)

Finally she really liked the friendship between Kate and Max.

They asked her about the SHAKA BRAH line. Her favorite lines were reciting the Bible to Kate on the rood. As well yelling when Max realizes the source of the tornado.
>>
>>127718491
The handling of Rachel is just the tip of the iceberg. The episode is objectively weaker than its predecessors in so many ways. The pacing is a mess with far too much time dedicated to Max going in circles and that unnecessary nightmare sequence. It fails to reveal any new relevant information about the characters or story. Player choice is meaningless with all the interactions that took place during the storm being erased from history. Not to mention the abysmal characterization and shoddy dialogue.
>>
>>127718491
>but that it being the cliche ending instead of what they wanted.
The blind ending-hate that we sometimes get on here and especially got in the beginning is indeed "overblown". And if you want to say there are people that hate on the game for wrong or petty reasons, I'd have to agree. There's always those people in everything. But I have problems with it that I consider substantial; I'm not simply salty because "my theory didn't become true". I grew disappointed with the episode long before I got to the cliff. And I have read plenty other people bringing up problems that I consider substantial too. There's honest criticism out there in the face of which utter frustration is not always an unreasonable response. That doesn't mean there aren't also things to like about it... Just overall it wasn't at all what I had hoped it would be.

>So really, LiS has brought nothing new to the table
Surely you are talking story-wise here? Because there's a bunch of stuff its doing that I haven't really seen in other games. Be it some vague emergent quality that you can't slap a label on or more concrete stuff like the way in which Max is pretty unique as a MC alone. They didn't really go there narratively much, but for one thing the "anti-hero" trait is something I have rarely seen in MCs at all. Then again, my horizon's not too broad there. But the art style and direction, the use of passive storytelling and variable pacing? At least those are some of the things that I've read are pretty unique traits, or at least unique in how well LiS in parts manages to pull them off.
>>
>>127719728
When I actually played the episode for the first time I distinctly remember not enjoying it as much as the previous episodes because of how frustrating a lot of it was. So I get where people are coming from with that.

However, I almost feel like that's appropriate considering the turn that the story took, with Chloe being dead and Max being desperate to find a way to fix it and save her. I felt like the frustration I was feeling was probably a glimpse of how Max would feel in that situation, and so the game forcing you to go through these hoops kind of made you feel Max's desperation. People complain about that, but I actually found it kind of appropriate, even if frustrating. Besides I'm obsessed with the Souls games, so I apparently just dig frustration.

I understand the frustration and I've seen some criticisms I think are completely valid, but I also just don't care about a lot of the angles people try to attack it from.
>>
>>127721826
>Max is pretty unique as a MC alone
Max is a bog standard passive everywoman who just needs to learn how gosh darn good she was all along.

>but for one thing the "anti-hero" trait is something I have rarely seen in MCs at all
Firstly, it's not rare at all. And second, how the fuck is Max the least bit of an anti-hero?

>the use of passive storytelling
Which goes nowhere, is rendered completely unnecessary, and only serves to accidentally ignite imaginations as to what far better storylines would be.

>variable pacing
ie, clunky pacing, which has been a common complaint from day 1.
>>
>>127722923
Not that anon and not wanting to defend the game, but max is very much an anti hero if you play her a certain way (pro-chloe, all morally dubious choices, let the town die to save your lover).
>>
>>127722923
>Max is a bog standard passive everywoman
Even if this were true, that doesn't mean she wouldn't be unique "as a MC".

>Firstly, it's not rare at all.
Tell me. Again, narrow gaming horizon. And I did say they don't go there narratively much, but of course is a bit of an anti-hero. She screws up all the time. The ending as they interpret it is her having obliviousy caused all the misery and having to sit it out now. This picture >>127717035 defines what "anti-hero" qualities I see in her. They are not articulate, and even though they play into that "making mistakes is growing up" narrative ultimately I liked it for its more silly/adorable/funny side.

>Which goes nowhere
Yeah, disappointingly it does for the most part. But that doesn't mean it wasn't well-done technically and cannot be tried to recreate in other titles. The gaps they left in everything is the reason people got so invested to begin with. Especially the characters. And seeing how this is in line with their art direction that they said to be designed so that players can project their own imagery into the experience, I'd bet was deliberate.

>clunky pacing
I loved being able to roam around. In all other story-games I have played walking around has always felt awkward. Like I will find a glitch or something immersion-breaking around some corner; that the devs don't want me sneaking around, that I'm holding the story up. Anxious, really. Complete opposite in this game.

I'm not saying it's a masterpiece like other people may. But a ton of people enjoyed it like they never did a title before despite obvious flaws. And it did win a ton of awards... There must be something special to it, right?

>>127722116
>but I also just don't care about a lot of the angles people try to attack it from.
I hear that. But between my own experience, the ones I read about and the fact that people that had nothing but love for the game turned around afterwards, I can't help but feel it's justified.

>I can't help but feel it's justified.

Depends on which criticisms you’re talking about.

To me many of the criticisms here can be boiled down to being disappointed about no happy ending or no this or that conclusion, and then, starting from that dissatisfaction, retreading over the game to scrutinize every plot point or character action that COULD have been used to provide the desired result. Then call the writers shit because they didn’t utilize these obvious opportunities to change character behavior or plot points to yield whatever different conclusion it ‘should’ have been. To me that’s just a disingenuous and invalid approach to interpretation because it’s just trying to milk the story for some desired result rather than interpreting it on it’s own terms for what it is.

If that’s what people want to do, then okay nothing to stop it, but I just roll my eyes when I read that kind of shit that, in my opinion, doesn’t even qualify as valid criticism.

The doe did it! The doe started the tornado.
>>
>>127726868
Some say it's just Max's spirit animal guiding her. Which Samuel attests to along with the whole Native American theme.
Others, myself included, think it's a manifestation of Rachel's spirit. Only Max can see the doe and she only appears in places relevant to either Rachel or Chloe.
It was another one of those things that was never explained.
>>
>>127726387
Yeah, with that argument you can go ahead and call every issue we bring up just a retroactive result of our ending-trauma. Then you actually have to confront yourself with the points that are being made.

Again, I was not feeling the episode way before characters (bluntly) ended, let alone the story itself. It was tonally completely different. At the end of Episode 4 that already started. You started to notice that what seemed to be and you hoped to be an organically interwoven hollistic whole was really heading into a very awkward clash of multiple things they tried to do, thematically, narratively, emoiotionally, gameplay-wise, ... - and it did. To me certainly.
>>
>>127712324
I wonder if they'll get Ashly on that podcast, or if Ashly is too hot shit for it. Dayeanne and Hannah just actually seem like they have nothing better to do.
>>
>>127726387

But if what the story is is completely unsatisfactory, what's wrong with delving into alternatives? Does every discussion of what might have been better have to be prefaced with a long disclaimer of why the endings as-is are unsatisfactory?
>>
>>127727660
Ashly's done more interviews and appearances than other VAs in the game, but she also seems to have a busier schedule. I don't think she'd be opposed to doing it, it's just she would need to find the time.
It'd be great if they could get her on.
>>
>>127727918
>Ashly's done more interviews and appearances than other VAs in the game
That'd be because she's the biggest star, though, not that she's necessarily the most open. She's also the one who gets nominated for any VA award on behalf of the game because she's the known name.
>>
>>127728137
I know. It's a shame she's gotten almost all of the attention and praise. She definitely deserves some, but so do the other actors.
We've heard from a few others, which is nice.
I would really like to her from Derek Phillips about how it was playing Jefferson.
>>
>>127727573
>Yeah, with that argument you can go ahead and call every issue we bring up just a retroactive result of our ending-trauma.

No you cant, there are some arguments that fit what I was talking about, such as obviously the Max was supposed to warn everybody one, and some that don't, such as some of the plot holes and some of the problems with characterization that are actual critiques of the story itself. I'm talking about specific arguments, not everything that everybody says.

>>127727865
There's nothing wrong with discussing alternatives and talking about things you would have liked better. But that's not interpreting, that's just talking about your preferences, and that's fine except some people here tend to act like they are objectively analyzing the game by forcing their preferences onto it, and I personally don't think that's valid.
>>
>>127728137
>not that she's necessarily the most open

Not sure exactly what you mean by this, but Ashly is actually pretty forthcoming with her personal ideas and feelings about things. I've watched some speeches and things she's done where she's gotten pretty personal.

Hannah was really like that too, it's kind of endearing how sincere and open they are, honestly.

Weird choice of words on my part. I just mean that she might not be willing/able to give time to any old thing. Her schedule might be tight to where she has to pick and choose what appearances she has time for, that will be most valuable (audience size, hitting certain niches, etc).
But total speculation.
>>
>>127729561
It'd be nice if she could do it though just for the fans. Although, frankly, it doesn't seem like many people are even paying attention to that podcast. I think Hannah and Dayeanne just have no schedules so they'll do anything. Dayeanne actually pretty much admitted as much when they interviewed her.

Hannah wants to be a musician though, she said she's got a record coming out in a couple weeks or something. She's got a good voice, should be worth a listen.

But then surely there should have been plenty arguments in this thread, directly or indirectly, that should have had you come to the conclusion that criticism is definitely justified. You are making it seem like everything just gets an eye-roll out of you. The stuff that really does deserve those is ignored here mostly.
Then you should try and specifically address people when they bring that shit up. If you can be arsed. But I'm sure people will step in and support your case. People here do like the game after all.

>You are making it seem like everything just gets an eye-roll out of you.

I don't think so. Yeah I've been talking about the kind of arguments that I don't care about, but I've also mentioned several times that there are other criticisms that I find completely valid. I mostly agree with the pretty common argument that the endings invalidate most of what Chloe and Max had together, and I completely get why people hate it for that reason. And I even personally agree that the endings, at least the Bay ending in particular, is awful on that account. Although, even having said that, I can also see the possibility for more nuanced interpretations where most of everything still matters and the meaning is retained, even though I'm personally incredulous towards that. I never said I don't think any criticisms are justified, I'm not sure why what I'm saying is striking you that way.

I did save her. I was apparently so good at saving her in my first run that I never got the chance to mention the bible.

Then in my current replay I got there and wanted to see the opposite outcome. I also wanted to see how she'd respond if I reminded her suicide is a sin.
>>
>>127718913
>Her favorite lines were reciting the Bible to Kate on the rood. As well yelling when Max realizes the source of the tornado.

It's interesting that a lot of people have complained about how blaming the tornado on Max was scapegoating her or not fair or whatever. Yet Hannah actually found that to be really emotionally resonant, like one of the most powerful things she read as Max.

Then again, she did choose Bay.
>>
>>127732003
Yeah I don't remember her reciting anything from the bible there either. They either cut that line out (poor Hannah) or it was an option I never picked.

Chloe surely made a move on autopilot Max when she knew no one would ever know after the next day, right? That's the kind of thing she's always saying she would do.

Unless they were too worried about Jefferson and/or the storm to think about anything else.
Or Chloe talks big but didn't have the nerve to go through with it when the tables were turned.
Or maybe the previous Max's memories aren't totally lost after all (they heavily implied it, but I don't think it was ever really confirmed).

How do you think the in-between version of Max feels knowing she kinda only exists for a short time?

If nothing else, some interesting ideas for a fic maybe.
>>
>>127732597
It was there. The options were Matthew 11:28, Proverbs (can't remember the verse) and "Suicide is a sin". You could bypass it if you had enough positive points with her and correctly mentioned her father or sisters. The lines they cut in that scene were about Kate's friends.
>>
>>127733141
>How do you think the in-between version of Max feels knowing she kinda only exists for a short time?
Yikes. I thought regular Max taking control of Vortex Max's body was kind of unsettling. Having "Parking Lot" Max (need a better name) being aware that she's going to lose her memories (at best) or be taken over by another version of herself (at worst) sounds pretty damn creepy.
>>
>>127727432
>it's a manifestation of Rachel's spirit.

I've never really understood this theory. I mean I get that it shows up near Rachel's grave and everything so I guess it's plausible, but the question is why would Rachel's spirit manifest as a doe? Why wouldn't her spirit just be, you know, her spirit?
>>

>inb4 Max

>>
>>127733183
Oh, I bypassed it then. What does she say if you tell her suicide is a sin?

Actually is it possible to save her if you don't intervene with David? I never wanted to try taking the picture because I was afraid it would get Kate killed.
>>
>>127717282
APE APE APE! GOOO APE!
>>
>>127733650
It is but it earns you negative points with her and she's quite hostile towards Max in the dorms and on the roof. And considering that David was working against Jefferson and Nathan the whole time there really is no positive outcome from showing the photo to Wells.
>>
>>127733650
>What does she say if you tell her suicide is a sin?
You tell her that she'll go to hell if she kills herself, and she responds that she's already in hell, and then jumps

>is it possible to save her if you don't intervene with David
Yeah, but you have to explain yourself to her about it (I think the correct choice there is telling her you were afraid of him, but I'm not too sure cause I killed her on that run).
Just like if you ignore her call.
>>
>>127733141
>How do you think the in-between version of Max feels knowing she kinda only exists for a short time?

I honestly just kind of try not to think about that, because it's kind of disturbing. I guess we're not supposed to worry about the implications that Max is basically killing other versions of herself when she focus-jumps, so yeah, I just pretend that's not happening.
>>
>>127733141
>Or Chloe talks big but didn't have the nerve to go through with it when the tables were turned.
Chloe is the definition of all bark no bite. She flirts so much with Max. The second Max returns it, or kisses her, she is so lost and doesn't know how to react.
I get the feeling that Chloe is experienced with sex but entirely inexperienced with love (Or at least having it returned).

>>127733489
Well having Rachel's spirit outright appear would spoil the mystery of what happened to her. The doe fits in nearly every place we see it. The exception being when it appears near the bathroom during the nightmare.
Plus people going through the files would have found Rachel's model and voice lines early on.
>>
>>127734016
>and she responds that she's already in hell, and then jumps

Yeah, I'm really glad I didn't do that. Normally I like playing through games and seeing different options, but some of the ones in this game would just be too heavy.

Because the conversation started with you saying the criticism would be "overblown". Which I don't think it is at all. I'd even go further and talk about how even over-the-top criticism would be appropriate with regards to future titles. For some people it might just be therapeutic or whatever to bitch about how they screwed the game, which is fair enough as long as it happens here I think, but for the industry you can argue it's important to get the message out there that people are not satisfied with this final episode and will actively avoid developers for building something up with so much hope only to let it crumble in on itself as bleakly as they did here. It's like they got us invested on empty promises and we never got a adequate return on that investment. I mean, a main reason for why we are still here and able to have this conversationat all is that people can't even get over the game with how blue-balling it is in mutliple regards.

Imagine a scenario where Max can bring someone through a rewind or photohop with her.
Bringing Chloe back so she can see William one last time and get a chance to say goodbye.

In Bay ending: This ending was easy to make it ,for them. Why not? They just added few character clothes(some characters didn't even show up more than 1 sec) , one new 'small' location, photo focusing scene; it wasn't even a cutscene. Other ones were the same ''cliff and bathroom'' So yeah, that's our longer! ending.

In Bae ending: They had to do show destroyed town, roads, buildings(destroyed? Max's dorm, Chloe's house... etc.) if they want to made this ending long and make us believe to 'everybody's died'.However roads are well, buildings are still up.

Let's admit it. Episode 5's and both endings are clearly screaming like '' m-muh budget''
