3. Press A
4. Open sysUpdater
No, you don't hold anything. If you press Y at HBL, you'll be asked to enable some shit I can't remember the name right now, then you enable it with A. After that, sysUpdater will work fine.

Get one of those and the correct region and firmware update for your console that can be found here:

get the 9.0 or 9.2 updates
2) when both are completed you should have a two zip files
3)extract the firmware update zip file and inside of it should be an updates folder. put that folder on the root of the sd card
4)extract the other zip file and there should be a folder called "sysUpdater"
5)take that folder and put it in the "3ds" folder of your SD card
6)run homebrew launcher preferably through ironhax or menuhax
7)find sysupdater in the menu
8) plug in your charger
9)click it and choose downgrade
10)???
11) Profit
Give it a couple of minutes and boom you've successfully downgraded to a firmware possible of running custom firmware

I'm following the tutorial here:

I'm at this part:
III Booting into the emunand
To boot into your emunand :
If you choosed the Cakes method in the first part you can just continue to use it : just replace the 9.2 firmware.bin with the 9.5 one and check the emunand patch.
I replaced the firm9.2 with the 9.5 one and all I get in Cakes is a black screen now.
Did I do something wrong?

I grabbed 3.4.1 and it worked fine. It honestly just depends on which one you'd prefer. The beta has more options but has chances of breaking, so I'd stick with the stable option.

Just found out I can finally downgrade my O3DS. Updated to 10.3 to finally get browser hax last week after being stuck on 9.9 blocked browser forever.

Just restart its fine, if it freezes that means the kernel access failed, similar to any of the other steps getting stuck.
I had to launch ironhax installer, then exit it, then launch sysupdater and it worked.

Are you sure?, you need an account on that site and also install a program to download stuff "faster" from there, downloads from the browser are ~80kbts and stops a lot making you downloading the whole file again, is not user friendly.
