Alright this assumes you know what your doing with computer, but I can easily explain it step by step.
Basically you get python, and make sure you have a package manager to download those new python "wheels", I use pip (https://bootstrap.pypa.io/get-pip.py).
Then go to http://www.lfd.uci.edu/~gohlke/pythonlibs/#curses and click the first link under curses (cp27-none-win32). Save that file somewhere.
Then do a "pip install <file path of the file you just downloaded>" in cmd and you should have curses functionality running in windows.
After that you just do a "python fcrawl.py" in cmd and it works.

Pretty sure that crystal spear on average does slightly more damage per point of mp, is more accurate, and requires less casts to kill in general because it's more powerful. But it has less range, requires more mp (which could be bad if you're low on mp and need to attack), and is probably more swingy in the damage you notice because you're casting it less overall relative to iron shot. And it might not actually kill faster/more efficiently if you're 1-2 shotting things anyway. But I don't know; as a backup irresistible spell for a caster I'd just go with iron shot because it takes less spell levels and has more range. But spellforged servitor can also cast crystal spear so that might be the better choice. Might be better to use on bosses too. I don't think the choice matters that much though. And actually I'd go with orb of destruction as an irresistible damage dealer for a (non-earth focused) caster because it's pure conjurations, meaning I don't need to invest heavily in earth magic for good power, although it comes with its own problem of being delayed and sucking ass in corridors.

Beat 4 blizzard demons and all the simulacra.
I think the most dangerous one was a Hydra with 10 or something heads, but aside from that Fireball, breath and simple mawling did the trick.

You are right, that's why i dealt with them with spells mainly, and when (and if) they reached me in melee i'd cast haste and slap their remaining shit in dragon form.
Anyway, cleared the Shoals, took a fuckton of turns to take all the items to my lair, used the occasion to also identify most of my loot and organize a bit the stash. Between this and since i'm almost literally spamming Dragon Form each time there's an enemy (or even sometimes for fun, see pic related and when i visit my stash), hunger is really taking its toll.
Goazg here is my saviour, it's truly an hoarder's greatest ally with its shops of infinite quality food.

The usual way to do it is convert to TSO and run through crypt to get maximum piety. After that, you do pan -> hell -> tomb. You'll want to get rid of that berserker mut and stop using that -tele amulet. That'll get you killed.

You don't go to Hell, you go to Crypt or Abyss first to grind TSO's piety.
People usually dive Hell to 7th floor ASAP, because there's no loot, so there's no point in exploring all floor.
Hell effect is nasty too, so you'll want max TSO's piety before exploring hell.

Prepare a method to blink (either through ring or blink spell). You don't want to be in the middle of raging summons later.

Go into Zigurrat and find potion of cure mutation, the first 10 floors should be safe.

You convert to TSO for healing on demon / undead kill, and that sweet Cleansing Flame AOE. Brand holy wrath on any executioner axe you have, and keep 1 battle axe / executioner axe of anti magic for backup.
