Honestly, for the medals from the first game, I'd stick with the American ones. There isn't any difference in quality (they're both plastic discs with stickers on them), but the Japanese ones put the copyright information on the art, which looks pretty ugly - the American versions put them on the underside of the medal instead.

I originally just wanted Hakai's medal for the Kaima jingle but ended up throwing in a bunch more that I've been wanting. Rakuten can be expensive but it's totally worth it when you're just trying to get the ones you want and not full boxes.

The individual blind bags tell you what watches are compatible with the medals in that series. I could check when I'm back home but if I recall correctly, Fumi's watch only works with the same medals Keita's watch reads, the zero watch only reads zero medals, and a prototype u watch can read all the previously released medals plus the green ones that don't have an U in their sticker and the older (chapter 1-2, some of 3) buster medals.

Canadian anon here, bought a few more Medal packs even though I knew I'd be getting mostly doubles since I already have more than 3/4 of series 1 English Yo-kai Medal set. I'm pretty glad I did as one of the packs had 2 new medals for my collection.

My team was generally in their mid-30s when I beat the game and I heard you need to have level 70 Yo-Kai to survive the Infinite Inferno. Are there any easy level up strategies or do I just have to grind the first few rooms of Inferno and Yo-Kai World?

the actual level to try and take on Infinite Inferno is about the mid-50s. I believe that at the Floor before McKracken's recolor fight, there's a bloominoko that could spawn and grants 20k exp if you defeat it. You could just grind up EXP there, bout you'll have to bash through a couple of bosses.

I bought both Keita's and Fumi's watches and I loved putting the medals in backwards and hearing that "SO JA NAI YO!!!" This makes it that less authentic to the show which I find really disheartening. I thought that was a really nice touch.

I found out that you actually can do this but it doesn't actually sound like the Mitomen. You just have to slide the medals in and out so the watch reads it as an error instead. And it may be inferior but it's still better than anything BoA would have shit out. Hasbro did a goddamn good job on it and apparently they've got plans to add the flashlight back in for the Type Zero if it ever happens. Though as pleased as I am with the US watch I really wish it had a goddamn on/off switch. And for it to be quieter.
