'Danse' is most likely a synth infiltration unit, one that's managed to work it's way into an extremely dangerous position for the Brotherhood. I let it say it's peace for old times sake but it was getting a laser bolt to the head regardless of what it said.

For a start, he's a random mook, not the head of the SRB. Why would he need to know? Basic opsec, you don't tell guys involved in frontline combat (particularly the often solo work of the Coursers) sensitive information they don't need to know. If X6 was captured by the Brotherhood and he had a database of every infiltrator in his skull, it's be a nightmare for them.
Secondly, even if Danse was one of the synths those Railroad spastics decided to give a personality wipe to and release into the wild, it doesn't change the fact that he's one codeword away from returning to his default state of a loyal institute drone, completely with decades of operational information on the Brotherhood, as well as up to date information of shit like their numbers, deployments etc etc.

Just finished Dead Money.The ending where I got stuck in the vault made me panic IRL so much. When the guy's note told me not to open his files because it'll lock me in forever I thought it was a bluff and opened it anyway thinking I could still get out. When the game wouldn't let me move and it faded to black I was legitimately spooked. Being trapped in a room forever with no escape is one of my biggest fears.
I'm not happy that I failed so many dialogue checks in this DLC, Imma level up in the Mojave and do some random quests first before I move on to Honest Hearts to avoid this from happening again.

Coursers might be read in on infilitration units within the Commonwealth if it's relevent to their mission, for instance, you might want them to know about certain units operating in Diamond City to avoid a Courser crashing through in pursuit of a synth and ruining some long term operation there.
