Surprise the Soliton Radar was there for a reason. Game was bad without it. You can turn it off in intrusion for big dick points you can't cash in anywhere, but the game already requires you to earn your radar in every section by sneaking to a hard place.
There are swimming sections later that either require you to have a vivid memory of the area to begin with or to use the radar, if it's your first run use the goddamn radar.
