In Nocturne, once you reach the station you're told there are four Onis to defeat. Can you do it in one run or what? I keep getting kicked out by a "strong power behind the door" which I assume is the fourth or third Oni. NPC says that the fourth one only comes out once you defeat the other three. Should I just keep looking or what? I feel like I checked everything.

SMT's Law, Chaos and Neutral system, though cornerstones of the mainline series, are actually completely retarded TBVH tetrafamaton.
They're watered down portrayals of alignments lifted directly from DnD (which are also considered limited/unuseful and they actually have more 'depth' with the additional good/evil/neutral axis) and always portrayed in-game in a cartoonishly stupid and extreme fashion with cartoonishly stupid and extreme story paths/endings. It's no wonder that Neutral is always the best path and usually considered canon since they have more subtlety than "1984 megahitler angels" vs "lucifer creates the world of hokuto no ken/violence jack".
Part of the reason Nocturne is considered the best game in the series is because it handled the alignments in the best fashion. The Reasons draw influences from the various alignments but don't copy them outright (except for Chiaki, but she is full retard) leading to choices and endings for the demi-fiend that are actually interesting.

I have finished 6 or 7 megaten games, and decided to try persona 4 golden on hard. I finally, just barely, managed to finish Yukiko's dungeon after playing for the last 5 or 6 hours. I think its because I decided to give it a go with one day before she gets murdered, so I couldn't leave to heal or anything.
Any advice beyond what's in the starter guide?

Nah, it's fine dude. I really don't know how to advice you though. P4 is pretty easy, even on Hard. Just remember to keep fusing Personas, conserve SP as much as you can and that Chie is basically useless by mid game, Yukiko is the best healer and that Naoto is awesome for Mudo/Hama'ing normal battles but terrible for bosses. For SL, always have the Persona with the corresponding Arcana and remember to leave the Fox's requests for a rain dayalthough with Golden you can finish all SLs in your first playthrough if you manage your time correctly.

I recently finished Devil Summoner 1 and meant to do a Devil Mode run in NG+ but I kind of got burnt out. I'm planning on playing Devil Summoner 2 and then going back to do that Devil Mode run. Hard mode on P3P is still easy. Maniac is a bit harder but it has that no new game plus bullshit so it sucks.
FES offers a lot of stuff P3P removes too, like extra story stuff, weapon crafting, choosing your protag's weapon, etc etc.

Doi's a much better demon artist than most give him credit for. Not that there are many in the MegaTen world who could compete for such a position, but between Soejima and Doi, Doi's got the better demon designs, though Soejima has a strong base as well.
It's really just Yasuda that has universal problems, and it's even worse because he doesn't design demons or anything. The unique ones for DeSu tend to be pretty bad.

The setting/story is a little bit explained, and after that there are explanations about the gameplay (press turn, demon negotiation and fusion in that order), and each partner says something about themselves. Yuzu's 8th day is definitely the hardest if it's your first run. Enemy levels spike considerably straight away and keep rising so you better be prepared if you do.
That said every route is a cakewalk once you head into NG+ so it'll be your only chance to really challenge yourself until Lucy unless you purposely use weaker demons or something.

Like for example, if you let your party on free command, they'll do elemental breaks if given the chance, so you will want them to go on full assault or on knock down; or that they'll go for the kill if an enemy is on the verge of dying even through they were set to heal, in which case you should just heal yourself.
The game was designed around this kind of gameplay, and even if you don't like it, it adds an extra layer of strategy (at least for P3).
And you had like 80 hours to progressively learn how to use the AI. Nix killing you back then is entirely your fault.

More like a culmination of nothing important happening for months during the game and all the important plot points being shown right at the beginning and end of the story. It was a bit disappointing but I don't play games only for the story so whatever.
