When I play it, I generally try to be as unnecessarily polite as possible, and bring people food and drinks and such.
Also, with the upgrade, it's now possible for service borgs to serve as both a bartender and a chef.

Yes, its true. Its a player controlled worm which is basically a "train". It breaks walls that it tries to move through and if it receives enough damage it splits into two(albeit smaller) worms, and this can go on for a while.
Admins don't seem to like spawning these though, I guess that's it because they're often round enders if they manage to eat the guns since they're unbeatable at that point.

Nel was the precursor to hatestation. Firestation was a station that popped up as an alternative to hatestation. While the admin metaclub of hatestation tried to convince everyone nobody would use it, it would be just a fad, it wouldn't last, etc., it stole the entire regular userbase and brought back twice the amount for the 3 days it lasted. The metaclub then guilt tripped the admin of firestation into shutting it down and joining as an admin on hatestation. Now, hatestation has 5 people at a time at most, usually around 1-2, and it's still almost entirely griffons.
I still think the simpler, more streamlined station is better, since every piece fits better together and no activity is too annoying to bother performing instead of, say, killing and cloning instead.
But the most important part is the userbase, and /vg/'s outright implicitly forbids playing some jobs if you don't want to be both considered valid and treated the way one should treat a ligger instead of a fellow human.
If current hatestation wasn't 90% griffons, 10% retards, it would still beat the shit out of pomf.

We have dismemberment, some kind of weird goon-trek chem hybrid, deepfryer, minimap med console, xenoarch, custom stuff like daikimakura, screaming duck toy, *ree emote, and a slurpslurpy vendor (sells with keywords like meta, shitler, griffon, etc.), butt-based recipes and crafts, I think botany is expanded, too; some balance changes like stun is nerfed a lot, especially on makeshift weapons, etc.
Best of all, when a borg receives a reset board, it doesn't bug out and it can actually choose its new class :^) Also, sprites in hands aren't bugged to shit :^)

The problem with the admins is easy to solve: either replace them with people who understand escalation and self-defense, or teach the existing admins about it.
But how do you solve an issue with the player base? Bay up and banned anyone who didn't follow their RP guidelines. But our banlist is already a mile long, and I imagine that Hippie has a similar issue. So how do you fix a playerbase issue without going Gestapo and banning a lot of people?

People who whine about anything to do with the way the server is played are just that: cry babies. There is no RP and there is no Shittery. It's a blend of all kinds of players with varying levels of everything. The only rule to RP is that you have to at least pretend you are a spaceman on a space station. That's it. You don't have to emote, or waifu, you won't get banned because you couldn't justify why you murderboned as an antag, you don't have to do shit. The server staff is very hands off.

As for telling people to fuck off to griefstations, that's because we do get people who fit in there perfectly and demand that we allow people to randomly toolbox and killbait. And seeing as how this is an anonymous forum of discussion, I have no idea of who you are or what you're like, so I cover both bases, so to speak.
If we let the validhunters roam free, the entire station does and security is never played because they're seen as the enemy.
If we let the roleplayers roam free, nothing ever happens and two-thirds of the station goes braindead, just like Bay has.
Instead, we strike a good balance here now. Some people talk in the bar/hallways/autismfort for an hour while some people hunt down the confirmed antag (i.e. the nuke ops or that fukken wizard). The extreme validhunters got removed and so the balance of RP and valids is strong. It's the time to come back, anon.
