Its not so much that 7-10 are the same now, as much as they adjusted the robot ranking amount on all the parts, so now a bot that might have been T7 before is now max ranked.

So if they want to go back down to the T7 area they'll have to use some lower level parts like smaller guns/wheels/radars/etc.

And they dont call it tiers anymore. Now its just "Robot Ranking". 24,000RR is the max tier, or basically the old T10.

We've found a really nice sweet spot at 6000RR that allows for nice builds and is relatively tryhard free. Go much higher than that and you open yourself up to people being able to use guns that instantly shred everything that moves from across the map, helicopters with 10+ rotors that absolutely will not die, and literal swarms of thruster stick drones swirling around in the skies that outclass every other build in the game.

So anyway, the robutt seems like the wings are above the centre of mass, a bit to the back and they're all rudders.
Is this ideal? Are rudders there just because they're harder to hit and easier to conceal?

I used rudders because the actual wing parts are fucking gigantic. Yeah they can carry more than rudders, but they are so huge they are very hard to protect.

If you dont care about looks, and want to have multiple redundant wings, or found a cool way to arrange multiple wings, go with wings.

If you are going for minimal wings, or want something easy to conceal, use rudders.

Rails a shit 90% of the time. Very rarely do I ever have good matches with them.

They are terrible at everything they are designed to do.

Its not their speed, its their maneuverability that dominates everything else. They can quickly flip around all over the fucking place, and drop, climb and take off in any direction they want. Can turn on a dime.

So while you are desperately trying to hit this fucking brick thats moving all over the fucking place, you are stuck on the ground making you an easy target. And if you do happen to majorly cripple one and it falls behind a hill, it will auto-heal and be back up flying again in no time at all.

They also shit on other flyers too because of that same maneuverability. Helicopters and Planes at least fly a certain way, and open themselves up to certain disadvantages. Thruster sticks bypass those and basically have no downsides unless you made one that was very badly designed.

Best way to kill them is if you entire fucking team is trying to shoot one down. But they usually come in pairs of two, or sometimes even 3-4 on teams.

The matchmaker also doesnt detect if something is a thrusterstick. So while if gives you team 3 legit planes/copeter, the enemy team might get 3 sticks instead and will dominate your team.

See all those aereorods you have you have going sideways in the wings? Flip them the other way so they go front to back.

As it is not you could get hit at the tip of the wing and damage could transfer through the rods right into the main body of your plane. Put them so they are lined up front to back instead and damage that hits a rod will stay in the wing by just spreading to another rod or block in the wing.

Should also add some thrusters pointing up/down in the nose area that will allow it to maneuver much faster.

The game doesn't have to have proteins fold in such a complex way as IRL. Each amino acid could just attract/repel others on the basis of some repulsion/attraction rather than trying to worry about Van der Waals forces, solvent exclusion, pi-stacking and so on.

Then you could have cool things like killing enemy cells by having an enzyme that fucks with their proteins and makes them refold into something harmful, stuff like that.

Submarines are only effective against the campaign enemies because most of them have exactly zero means of attacking a submarine. A few of them have torpedoes and some of the airships have cannons that can hit them (Coffin nails kill subs ded). Obviously the NPC submarines that exist are entirely capable of fighting submarines.

Funnily most of the NPC submarines are ridiculous cheese boats with shields and are so fast that most torpedoes can't catch them. The fact that most of the default content of the game is horrible cheese, particularly at the high end doesn't really help the game much.

It uses a script that overrides gyros in order to keep your thrusters pointing against your direction of motion. Perfect for making tiny atmos craft that only need one thruster/heliblade.

Seems like a cool idea

SUGGESTION:

Give these things a complete overhaul.

Make them useable in planets. Spicificly, make them VERY powerful, but only function at 100% below 20 meters, and tapers off to 10% at 40 merters. Slightly lower for the small block variants. Get in, set the lifters override to 100% and your ship will hover between 20 and 40 meters. Take the key off the same code that gives your ship its altitude in the HUD.

The result? A MATRIX type hover engine for large ships.

ANOTHER result: Landspeeders made real for small ships. A uber fast replacement for wheels. Eat dust Luke Skywalker.

To make work they would be VERY powerful at 20 meters or below, but use vastly LESS power than a vanilla atmospheric engine.

Cliffs and mountians would still be obsticles to vehicles equiped with the new hover engine.

I dunno man, you're doing something wrong.
SMG is REALLY strong right now. You just gotta fire in bursts at longer range to let your bloom go down.

Flyers are way easier to kill than a proper tank.
Adding loads of blocks barely increases your RR now but your health goes up by a lot.
Go for 2 tracks, 7 or 8 weapons and LOADS of armor for maximum tonk mode.

Auto repair doesn't really make flyers super OP, you just gotta build a fast enough robit to hunt them down after you down them.

Bigger movement parts and guns still have a bit more HP, though.

I guess they mostly rely on higher tier bots having more blocks (bigger weapons need more room, more CPU available). So that means they have more health to deal with the slight increase in weapon damage.
