Erm, skins are nice, but they're part of the visuals and pretty much the thing that will generate their income, unless they lock other champions behind a paywall and you have to either farm or pay with real money to unlock certain character, but it's a wild guess, don't know about their business plans but i'm pretty sure people will complain if they implement character buy system combined with the card one, people will be really upset about the amount of time they need to spend on the game farming for characters and chests. The outcry will be big unless they try to balance prices and shit. It's the gameplay and the depth of it i'm concerned with. I'm pretty sure if the game performs well they'll update it regularly and will fix and add stuff, but compared to other games where you can get your build and adapt to the situation you're in, in Paladins you're dependent on rng and random cards which pretty much can ruin your match and experience from the start. Also the lack of additional objectives for now pretty much forces the game to be stale and monotonous. "Go to point A, spawn a siege machine. Escort, attack door. ". And this repeats. It's just me I think, but I got tired really fast, won't focus on other things I think will tank the game. But you know..

Super worried about the pay model in this game making this a ded game before it even arrives due to overwatch not having bullshit.
Builds will be everything and the way the card system exists means that pay to win is gonna be a real thing.
Its even worse than if they just sold heros/champs.
I mean I am sold on the customisable perks but the way you have to get the cards is super cancerous.
The game is fun but it's just lacking in things to keep me interested.
Like I want to come back in at launch and see whats up, but I feel like if I (and others) do that it's never gonna get big ;_;

That's what card crafting is for. Half the options are to use your duplicates to craft a guaranteed unique card of the same rarity. Granted, the card you get is still random (at least among cards you don't have yet), but it's something.

On hearthstone's crafting system, isn't P2W stronger since anyone who buys a fuck ton of decks are instantly capable of making the exact deck they want? Anywho, what they should add for maybe an increased cost of an additional card would be a card of a specific level for a certain paladin(in my deluded mind, the player characters are meant to be called paladins, so that what i'm calling them). that way you can build towards your paladin of preference
