how is endless legend compared to civ v? i enjoyed endless space, but... i dunno anything about endless legend.
Which mod is best for playing as Tribes? Can be as realistic or fantastical as possible.

its alot more like civ than es was, you're exploring maps rather than the galaxy, and you settle 1 city per region, so part of the world is already layed out, you just have to build in it.
honestly, ES is just a lesser game compared to EL, so if you liked space, you'll more likely than not like legend.
the main difference (other than the cities) is you control the fights on a tactical map with armies up to 9 units, rather than fleet size.
other than that, if you've played civ and es, its a relatively standard, if well crafted 4x
honestly, if you liked the endless space lore/universe, thats your biggest reason for getting EL, while being in the past, theres ALOT of direct parallels you can pick up on, and alot more lore. much of which (at least seems) to link up directly from DotE, to EL, to ES2
like the horatio troop cost material, being the same as one of the endless legend tier 1 resources

In these games, is it possible to cap the research at a certain age, like, if you want to be a bunch of tribes forever, is it possible to make that true for the rest of the world?

How do I reduce ideological unhappiness? Do I need to be building culture or tourism to reduce the influence of other civs? I'm a little confused. The tourism of Arabia is only 96, definitely weaker than my 1355 culture, but it keeps saying my cities will flip to Arabia when I let the happiness get bad. On the other hand my culture is definitelt relatively weak, weaker than Arabias, and my tourism is of course weaker than their culture.

Speaking of Age of Wonders 3,
I get most of the classes but one - The Rogue. The Rogue class unique units are almost all of them support units.
They get the Scoundrel (useless, militia tier), Bard (like old school nymphs, can charm and shoot a longbow), assassin, succubus and Shadow Fiend. Shadow Fiend is the only one that can take a beating since it's got 60 Hp and 60% physical protection. But even so, it's only Tier 3 and not really a game changer.
Usually when I play Random Maps I try to get the Giant settlements and get my heavy duty units from there, but what if they're not available? What's a rogue to do? Rely on Gryphon riders?
