In HS removal and nullification effects are hard to come by for some classes.
In the WoW:TCG:
A paladin could stun it until its convenient or make it kill itself depending on what kind of deck he has
A Warrior could just nullify all damage it does until it's convenient to remove it
A Rogue could stun it or remove it with a spell, or in some cases even stab it without taking damage,
A mage just removes it or counterspells it
A non-beast hunter could easily deal with it using a weapon
A druid could be fucked but that's kind of the point, since as I recall they're the only class the tends to block everything with their own face before healing far too much health.
A shaman not only counters the spell but puts down a totem that makes it so the hunter's other minions take damage every turn, or if it's back in the days of Control Shaman, he just removes the entire Hunter's Board and puts down a totem that says if the hunter doesn't have any weapons or removal in hand he loses the damage
A priest slams a minion with far too much health into it, or if they're a shadow priest they not only destroy it but make the hunter discard a card,
A warlock just removes everything that isn't a demon, and probably does some damage to himself in doing so.
Are people who play fatigue decks and freeze mage so bad at this game they need to rely on hard removal?

Raven idol is a GOAT card. Fuck what anyone else says.
Always pick spell. The flexibility that the card provides is amazing, especially considering you can get an idol from an idol effectively milliganing your discover. The card has a place in both my mill druid & ramp druid decks.
Mulligan it out of your hand if you don't get your core cards, otherwise keep it. Makes for a good turn 1 play. Pulling an innervate or wild growth can easily accelerate your growth substantially. In mill just pick the best heal or removal. Bite, naturalize and tree of life show up often.

Admittedly the Dreadscale totem wasn't that great.
Typically you used a totem that was like "Interrupt target spell, also deal 1 damage to an enemy minion or hero at the start of your turn."It should also be added, that cards that gave +Spell Damage also buffed totem damage, but totems themselves could never attack.
Then when your opponent got pissed off that you had a two totems pinging their shit every turn, and a totem that was also drawing cards for you every turn, they'd attack the totems.
Which is when you then played the "Dreadscale totem" as you called it, since it dealt 1 damage to ALL enemies every time a totem was destroyed.
Also totems were more restricted, since totems came in four types, Fire, Water, Air, and Earth, you could never have more than 1 totem of each type on the field.
Fire Totems tended to just do damage, air totems almost always had to do with spells, either boosting your own or fucking the enemy ones, water totems almost always had to do with drawing cards (though there was one that could send your entire opponent's board back to their hand), and Earth totems were either taunts, or punishment.

They've openly stated they want to avoid new classes for at least a year, probably two.
But the WoW:TCG Deathknight had cards that either required graveyard mechanics, incredibly powerful weapons/armor that could be buffed, self-healing and mechanics to enrage minions, the ability to summon a fuckload of ghouls and buff them all, and the ability to destroy your opponent's minions/deck as incidental things.
They can't do graveyard mechanics.
Due to how they simplified weapons and armor, they can't have the DK get really good ones without pushing the warrior out.
Self-healing is kind of shit, and having self-heals that also buff allies would be too much.
Summoning a fuckload of ghouls is what the Paladin does with his Silverhand Recruits, Quartermaster is to buff your guys.
Enraging your own minions to give them additional buffs is a Warrior thing.
And they are purposefully trying to avoid cards that let you fuck with your opponent's deck or hand too much.
The only unique DK card I can think of they might put in, though probably as a shitty minion or a spell for another class was they had a spell that did variable damage, but for every damage it did to the enemy's face, their minions cost 1 more during their next turn.

Double nova is probably not a good idea with the auchenai, it's not that strong of a card anyway. I haven't played enough of the new cards to give you a straight answer on which will be a replacement but you'll probably be fine, you might have to be a bit stingy with the lightbomb since it can really clear big things out for you. having two lightbombs isn't essential, it just allows you to be a bit more liberal. Boom will work out fine for the time being but you should definitely look into ysera when you have the resources. The reasoning is that turn 7 usually isn't a problem for this type of priest deck, but you do want a strong turn 9 ysera or paletress to close things down quickly. But you're packing some heat with Voljin and sylvanas which could balance things out

You have to mulligan hard for Naga as well as the ramp, and usually hope for the coin as well. It plays like a gimped ramp list at worst. Mulligan for voidcaller or creeper, I played the same deck, well the demon zoo version. I always ended up dealing with their shield bots pretty easy upon getting my juggler out with the creeper, or even finding an abusive. The faster there shieldbot is off the board the easier. Also implosion just makes me laugh in their face with muster.
Also, 2 argus's m8 don't be ashamed to drop them bitches on spiders. With zoo against paladin, you're practically playing control.
