what do you guys do to level affinities with all the various characters? I'm finding it difficult to get character affinities to what they need for specific quest quickly. I dragged doug around for two days doing as many missions as i could find to get to his mission and now i'm finding almost every affinity mission i have left are ones for characters that i have 0 affinity with. Not the OP who mentioned it, but I played through most of the game using shock combo shit, and you can definitely do some silly numbers. Doubt you can beat skell super weapon numbers, but definitely did very similar damage with/without the skell otherwise. Overdrive also became pretty silly.

Blossom Dance is generally considered so strong because of it's inherent ability to ignore resistances, but is it something that could be offset by a Resistance Down skill? It's nice to have 10-20 Physical/Beam, the rest are usually too uncommon to be an issue.
Orphean gear is good to have 1-2 pieces of for the extra evasion and gravity resist later on, low DEF is offset by not being an idiot.
Don't worry too much about it unless you're hunting specific high threat Tyrants/bosses.
I understand huge seamless open worlds its expected textures suffer to some degree, but is there any technical reason for low res textures in some of the small areas separated by loading?
Like some parts of the walls on the ma-non ship look N64 tier, but it's a relatively small and empty area separated from the rest of the word.

There's more upgrade room on medium/light (in turn more DPS), and less gravity weakness (not an issue until much later)
Med/Light armor is viable if you aren't facetanking and/or you're using mixed pieces of Orphean armor to offset gravity weakness.
Skells are the same, Heavies are impressive but low mobility means you need the extra armour to survive.
PSA: Balduhino the Wicked-Eyed in northern Noctilum drops some INSANELY good gear. In the last three kills, I've gotten Treasure Sensor XV on a headpiece, a Sniper Rifle with Ultrafauna Slayer XV, and another one with Ranged Attack XV/Ranged Accuracy XV, ten upgrade slots. If you have Ares 90 you can one-shot him

R+down button on the d-pad will make them stay near you. If you stand too far from the target for melee, they'll only use range.
It may also be an option in the drop-down menu when you press the "+" button in combat, but I haven't checked.

Level 20 Skell is a POS for combat but a very good mobility boost.
Cruising across water with a Skell feel so good, epsecially if you're trying to reach areas around Noctilum like FN 223 (tiny beach on the outside)
There's also a tiny island in this area someone found before, level 80 Tyrant trap guarding a Lvl5 Mechanical container
You can sneak up behind the box by parking your skell on a small rock to avoid the fight.

NOTABLE MENTION FOR A BLUEPRINT: You'll need mechanical 4 for this one. Go to the hexagon to the bottom left of FN 503. Now when you;re at that hexagon, go to the very bottom right of it (if you look at your gamepad, you'll see the bottom right of this hexagon is filled with lava). While flying to the very bottom right of the hexagon, you'll notice a HUGE pit of lava, with a tyrant coming out of it. Fly down and you'll see a cave, go into and loot all the field lootables. One of them will contain a blueprint to this weapon.

Golden Yggralith Heart: Buy with Reward Tickets at 636/ea, or from the Big fucker inside the Sylvannia Floating Orb of doom.
Silver Vita Core: Rewarded rarely from Final/Vita Time Attack, or buy with rewards tickets for 210~ a piece.
Crude Neilnail Mask: Rewarded from Twins fight, second to last Time Attack Mission, rarely; or buy for 210~ a piece w/ RT.
Seidr Control Device: drops from anything with Seidr in the name; recommended farming in the sky of Cauldros between Data points 505, 509, 511, and 504.
Advanced Core: Drops from any Xe-Dom, farm with Xe-Dom Hands/Ancient Armor/Xe-Dom X Crest from any Xe-Dom.
Xe-Dom Golden Crest: Cauldros, Ruined City of O'rrh Sim, tile SE of FN Site 505; North, SW, and E from where you spawn, 3 golden Xe-Dom. A tyrant Galdr spawns just north of the spot, easy kill for Galdr heads/random parts.
Xe-Dom Silver Crest: Farm any silver Xe-Dom, recommended Xe-Dom farming in Sylvalum, all around.
Xe-Dom Jet-Black Crest: Farm from Lord Xe-Dom, FN point 108 in Primordia, up on floating isle, SE of the point.
Upgraded Lens/Advanced Crank: See above Seidr Control Device farm, same mob.
Infernium: Place Mining node on map at any FN point that lists infernium as a viable resource.

Damask Metal - 138 - Drops from Seidr enemies; recommended farming in the sky of Cauldros between Data points 505, 509, 511, and 504. They also drop Control devices, Advanced Cranks, and Upgraded/Quality Lens.
Eerie Lightning Tentacle - 66 - Drops from Rexoskell, in the cave behind forcefields in Cauldros East of data point 509.
Tempered Blade Module - 54 - Drops from Shrad enemies; go to FN 404 in Sylv, fly southwest into the cave, go clockwise from the upper ledge to the bottom area for a total of 7-8 Shrads. The Modules drop from arm breaks, so do this on foot.
All-Purpose Plug - 42 - Drops from any Galdr in Cauldros; from the Ruined City of O'rrh Sim, go south towards the giant crucible, along the west wall of the weapons hangar 4-6 will spawn and fly about.
Laser Light - 66 - Grind the Wrothian Samurai Time Attack mission for these, relatively reasonable drop rate.
Octopus Board - 98 - Drops from any Xe-Dom, Recommended farming the 3 golden around the Ruined City of O'rrh Sim checkpoint, as they're close together.
Quality Crank - 36 - Farm off of any Qmoevan unit in the skies, same general location as the Seidr in previous steps; or really any place you have a large number of them, i.e. Gang. Bases.
Qmoevan Capacitator - 72 - Same as Quality Crank drop locales.

Okay, so when i got my first shitty lvl20 skell, i felt 10x more powerful, my party would die and id finish the fight. Now, doing random missions and whatnot after chapter 7, i cant win pretty much any fight in ground combat, so i bought a new skell and gave the shitty one to elma, and im grinding some party members to lvl30 (im lvl34, most party members are mid/late 20s because i was getting all their affinity up and switching them out). My train of thought was i was handling my party members wrong by not keeping them leveled with me, and you're meant to switch to skells around this point in the game - but ive read the thread and seen people saying skells are weaker then ground combat and theyre mostly for water/air and exploration.
Whos wrong? Am i wrong? Im 70 hours in and I still dont feel like i really understand the game. I keep my party geared with the latest from the store, i upgrade their arts and skills, try to spec them. Like, when I was using Irina she would always fucking die, every fight, without fail, and I could never ever figure out why?
Any one have any tips? Any thoughts on my rant?
