I doubt he's still around, but to the Anon who recommended I give BOTWOT another try: I enjoyed it once I hit about part 6 or 7. I'm not super emotionally invested in the story but it is nicely written once you get through those first few chapters and it does have pretty interesting ideas. It isn't as cringey as I thought it would be once you get past the start.
A part of me wants to start my own very involved story now, but I know that's a terrible idea for me. I'd love to actually stretch my writing muscles and write in depth but I really shouldn't commit to something that large, so I'm sticking to the shorter stories I'm churning out currently.
Either way, thanks for encouraging me to give it another try. It stayed up until 3:30AM to cruise through most of it.
