Takedowns aren't finishers. You do them by double tapping power attack/bash and beating the opponent in a strength roll.
You don't even have to be playing unarmed. You can do them with a gun or a flaming sword.

I just finished OWB, they really did not feel like coming up with a lot of new enemies for this did they. The only new enemies are roboscorpions and the lobotomites, and even then the roboscorpions are just recycled radscorpion animations and they just scale the size of them to make 'different' enemies, even the bossfight is just a really big scorpion. The lobotomites are basically just regular human enemies with regular guns, they don't use anything new. At least the human enemies in DM/HH had different weapons and in DM had unique attack animations
Still, the writing really pulled it together in the end. I really hated the amount of crude dick jokes in the beginning and "random" humor but towards the end with Mobius and the Think Tank was at least enjoyable, especially if you did all the quests for everyone. And talking to your brain is pretty amusing and at least it references things you've already done.

Need some help with the original Fallout game.
I'm attacking the military base with the Brotherhood of Steel, but I can't get past the yellow force fields and so can't progress.
Everything I've found while google searching says that the repair skill can be used on the force field emitters, but I don't get the option of using skills on the emitters. Only items, and nothing I have seems to do anything.
I can, however, use skills on the force field walls themselves, but again none of the skills I have seem to do anything.
Is this a glitch or am I missing something? I've also read about people using radios, but I don't have one and I'd really hate to have to reload and do all that stuff again just to get one before I come out here.
How do I proceed?

You could also uses wrapped around chains, bolted together canisters, and the like.

There is a bug where the settlement stats reported in the pip-boy and the effects of supply lines are not accounted for properly. The bug itself seems to be caused by fast travel.
Try fast traveling to an interior (like home plate) and then fast traveling from the interior to a settlement with an alert to see if the alert on that settlement goes away.
It removes the alerts from my pip-boy, temporarily at least.

My thoughts were primarily low tech, such as animal hide, adorning the armor with trophies, rusty spikes and just a general run-down, scrapyard look.
But your ideas have a lot of merit. I really like the graffiti and illumination ideas. PA with a string of Christmas tree lights woven into the mesh, a strobe light instead of a head-lamp and a flaming exhaust port would look pretty awesome, especially with a few gang tags painted on some of the exposed plates.

You could use the themed outfits to help the druid-type players as well and gain a natural passivity to the type of animal you're wearing.
As for rusty spikes, you can't go wrong with a Pinhead from Hellraiser kind of rustic helmet, if you catch my drift.

I've changed the FOV manually in the ini files (95 for first person), and that looks fine. However this makes the pipboy tiny. So i've used the trick to open console, tell it to go back to fov 80 and then refresh ini. This makes the pipboy right sized with out changing the FOV of first person (it stats at 95), but also forces guns to return to 80 fov.

There's quite a lot of quest mods actually. Quest and dungeon mods for Skyrim at least were quite common. VAing didn't really stop things because there are so many amateurs out there willing to voice shit (I got over 100 auditions for Wheels of Lull alone). If anything, it's far less tedious now that there's no more 150 character limit on lines. Maybe Morrowind had more quest mods, but it took Morrowind years before you got quality quest mods in the first place. The good shit in the early days was far and few, and the bad shit was nightmarishly bad.

No, I'm not going to take the time to do that. Yeah it'd probably be pretty minimal to count out how many digits are in a 4chan filename, then rename any tumblr filename pictures to a random number with those digits, but I'm also not so autistic that I care enough to do it so some anonymous user doesn't get butthurt over it.
