Currently, I'm using Penal Mask + Drangleic Gauntlets + Drangleic Boots. Shirtless so I can still fast roll. Looks cool enough for now. Also, I bought the Uchigatana from the Blacksmith in Lost Bastille, so I'm pretty happy about that.
I have to say, I wasn't expecting much from Dark Souls 2 because of how much people shit on it, but I'm having a blast so far. I'm enjoying it just as much as the first one, and it's shaping up to be right there alongside it in my top ten list. The only area I found really annoying was Iron Keep (which I just finished), but it's just because I lost my cool. No,In you can get the Shadow set in ng+ during the Flexile Sentry boss, two Suspicious Shadows will show up, and they drop the set plus some other items.
The Shadow set is quite different than the DS1 version, you should take a look at it, and if you really want you canuse a bonfire ascetic on Flexile.

1st playthrough, I just started powerstancing blue flames recently.
It's pretty fun, you gain a wide horizontal swipe (L1) and a strong attack (L2) capable of matching fat weapons, in additional to the ability to cast spells.
However, I'm starting to feel like my stats are far too spread out between VIG, END, ATN, ADP and INT.
Post yfw DaS3 has a good selection of fully viable covenansts to pick from

Miracles are more like tools to bolster regular combat. You use them at certain times but don't rely on them.
Sorceries on the other hand tend to be your primary damage dealer if you are built right.
But you could go piromancy which is like miracles in that its a tool, but it doesn't scale off any stats so anyone can use them. You just gotta invest in upgrading the pyromancy glove to increase damage.

Because the less you spread your stats the more solid your build will be, specially on your first build; with Pyromancy you'll only need to level up some more levels of ATT and you can focus on you health, stamina and whatever your weapon scales with (STR I suposse)

Is Demon Ruins actually a worse-designed area than Lost Izalith? Lost Izalith may have been more annoying and had the worst boss in the Souls series, but at least it felt like some though went into it, even if it wasn't intelligent thought. Demon Ruins just feels like a big empty environment where a few enemies where dragged and dropped into like it was made by some kid doing his first Unity project.

If that failsPoison arrows work just as well. Theres a spot on the walkway up to the archers wherethey cant hit you but you can hit them. Then just hit them with poison arrows, even tho the arrows won't do damage, if they hit they will still apply poison, and you should only need to proc it once then wait for the knights to die.

The archers were where I lost my first truly large stock of souls on NG+. I was so sad when it happened. The first time I just died against them. The second time I got knocked off by an arrow while blocking.

Nah, most people are just too impatient/scared. I've seen a friend of mine play Dark Souls and he thinks he's bad, but he's generally not, his only flaw is that he immediately dodges when he sees an enemy attempting to attack him (instead of waiting for the swing to start) leading to a lot of deaths. All the moves are very telegraphed, so as long as you don't panic you'll breeze through the game.
