The second it was announced I was disappointed with the direction they were taking.

You go through the first 3 chalices and you've seen all the rooms already and you've seen a good bunch of the enemies already.
What I think they should have done is delete the chalices and put the bosses in to the main game. They could have easily expanded the base game areas to have more bosses.

I recently made a full arcane hunter and I have a few questions.
1. Is the Tonitrus worth it? It seems good but I could be missing out on something better.
2. Which spells is better for just spamming damage Executioners Glove or Blacksky Eye?
3. What is a good Arcane level to stop at and start pumping more points into Vit?
Which new weapon do you think is the most overrated? My pick is the saif. Need like 5-6 hits to kill someone in pvp. Pizza cutter rekts me in 3 hits.

Tonitrus is worth it for shitting on kins in PvE. With Nourishing gems it can get over 900 ar with 50 arc.
For DPS Blacksky. For raw damage Gloves
50 is a good cutoff. But go to 70 if you want to get the most out of tools

1. If you are pure arcane fuck tonitrus, get a weapon that converts.
2. Executioners deals less per QS bullet, but staggers way more. Blacksky Eye is more efficient, but takes longer to wear targets down.
3. 70 is the softcap for tools, you start seeing diminishing returns here. Damage will still increase until 99 though, but not as much as 50-70.

The Dreamlands are just a different dimension. People can astrally project into it while sleeping, but to truly physically enter it is another story. You usually have to die in a ritual of some sort or get forcefully dragged in via a great one to persist in the dreamworld.

1. Tonitrus is a fucking DPS machine. It doesn't have the best moveset and its durability is crap, but it is, quite literally, a kin-killing weapon. However, I think it's better as a STR/ARC hybrid weapon. It's definitely helpful in the earlygame, though, if you're willing to invest a bit of STR to use it.
2. Executioner's is best against bosses. Blacksky Eye only costs 1 QS, casts quickly, and is much weaker, but it's great at grabbing an enemy's attention and generally chipping things. I think they both have their uses, but the damage from the Executioner's Glove is superior to the Blacksky Eye.
3. Either 70 or 99. 70 will give you a lot more breathing room for stats.

Go to desired strength (up to 30 if you want cannon, 28 if you want gatling, 27 if you only want church cannon, but I highly recommend going at least 28).
Then slap everything else into tinge.
As soon as you hit DLC go grab whirligig saw (you can run through to it quite easily as well as get enough mats to get it to +7 as soon as you've beaten amelia).
This will carry you until you get to Bloodletter with no extra STR investment needed. Just shove everything into Tinge and VIT as needed.

You pretty much have to focus on STR until you get the Evelyn. It kinda sucks, but BLT weapons are scarce. At the very least, you can play around with the Gatling Gun and the cannons if you get to at least 28 STR, which is pretty good for the DLC.
Also, yes, for STR/BLT builds the Bloodletter is the best weapon since it benefits from both stats.
What are the counter %s on weapons? Is it fixed in bloodborne?
I didn't think it was in the game originally but I've definitely been noticing it after getting stronger.

So I have a small lore idea that may or may have not been thought of yet. In the dlc we encounter dogs used by the hunters. However, these are much closer to the normal animal than the dogs in the main game that are with those hunters. I swear hearing somewhere that the old blood corrupts humans and turns them into beasts due to human nature. However, in the dlc we learn that the old blood actually is okay (if you want to consider cosmic horror blood okay) and its actually Kos's curse, the Vermin that are plaguing the blood. Maybe the curse isn't just limited to humans. The dogs can be corrupted by the vermin when ingesting blood. It also explains the mutant crows since they are scavenger animals.

Leave endurance at 15. Maybe go 20 if you feel you don't have enough. The bow uses a lot but there's really no getting around that and increasing endurance past 20 is kind of a waste given how little stamina actions require in this game. Go 50 bloodtinge, keep skill at 25 if you don't find yourself using the blade part all that often. Take vitality to 30 or 40 depending on if you intend on doing pvp.

I haven't used the blade on a Skill character yet so I don't know how good it is. It has an alright moveset and it's damage will probably be pretty good if the Blood damage is anything to go by, so it might be worth it. You could also use the Chikage if you take Bloodtinge to 50.
The current meta here is 98 though the most common overall is probably 120.

I've been using the blade, the intention being of a 50/50 build. it's really fucking long, longer than you expect, and fast to boot. Great for rallying it seems to me. I'm only up to killing Shadows, but I'm fuckin' loving it.
It has a single thrust attack in the combo, with the only other thrust being from the bow to sword transform attack. So ignore thrust damage all together, and focus on pure +physical damage, since that ups both normal and blood damage.

From the way the villagers talk about it, "the night of the hunt" is a fairly regular occurrence. They probably end up having them several times a year in Yharnam alone. They probably lock down the whole city and go on a big public hunt whenever even a single beast is discovered, to prevent it from spreading and minimize victims. The events of the game are special because the cause of the beasthood this time was a secret ritual instead of just random or natural and it was massive and widespread instead of being small and isolated. Eileen even mentions the first time you talk to her that "there are no humans left in yharnam."

I did it at 50 the first time with +6 weapons. It was hard but in a good way. The first zone is challenging but not hard enough that you'd get stuck on it or really struggle to progress. You can blow through it as early as you want to to pick up weapons and upgrade materials. Nothing will really murder you until the first boss, but then there's a big difficulty spike. I killed it with a +6 weapon but it was a good 2 hours of constant death before I got good enough. If you find it too difficult, come back when you've got a +9 and it'll be a much more reasonable challenge.
Overall, I think +6 is is the best for the DLC. It gives you enough damage to kill things without just blowing through everything, and it means that you can afford to upgrade any of the dozen weapons you find if they catch your eye. If it;s too hard, go at it when you have a +9 to whip out when the going gets tough.

And I'm still wrecking with the Parasite. Prob my new favorite weapon, reminds me of the whip from DS2.
The thing about it is that the moveset is really unique. It does good damage, but in PVP thats not as relevant because of the fact that it can't combo.
Even the fucking stake driver could combo to some extent, but this weapon just can't chain hits at all, and has really long attack animations in general. It's very bad for going offensive on an enemy.
You play with it passively. Poking with excecutioners or blacksky to get the enemy to come to you. Because the weapon has one of the highest ranges in the game, you control spacing to make their attack whiff and get in a counter hit, then hop away.
The downside is that if they're spamming vials, because the weapon can't really combo it's hard to punish them. So switch to a cleaver or something and finish them off.
I'm sitting around 280 AR now, but even at 250 I was doing fine. Just change your playstyle to fit the weapon.

At least the mobs the Bell Maidens in Yahar'gul summon don't infinitely follow you and stay in fixed positions when not aggro'd. Remember Lower Loran? Remember those fucking double bell maidens? Remember spiders that spawn and instantly seek you out like fucking blood-seeking missiles even when you haven't fucking moved from the spawn-in lamp? Exactly, provided these special maidens only show up a minute or two after you kill the first one (And start ringing the sinister bell again) it gives you an actual incentive to leave yourself open to invasions.
Sure you can kill the bell maiden and not get invaded but you better fucking high tail it to next checkpoint or shit is going to start getting very very real.

Stay on his ass, dodge behind him and attack while he's winding down. Some of his attacks you can just be smashing him in the ass while he does them since the hitbox is only in front. Then just learning the dodge timing on some of the attacks in his last form
