Security isn't elevated above anyone else, that's your insecurity complex. Security is on the station to help and to protect players. When the clown decides he wants to smash your windows or when a tatortot breaks in to singuloose, that's what they're there for.
Not to mention how easy it is to dodge tasers and how every job on the station has easy access to stuns, many of which are more desirable than a taser in the first place. I would gladly take a super obvious taser bolt flying at me over getting scrub gloved by an engineer who I can't even see the gloves on their sprite or examine because of the hardsuit.

I've not conclusively proven this but anecdotally I'm 100% confident that no one wants to be the first security player and be alone. If you join when there are no sec then soon after more will join and by the end of the shift the department will be full.
Unlike Medbay where you can just power through it, or Engineering where being alone isn't really that bad, or science/service where it hardly matters, when you're alone as security its nervy as fuck. Antags are going to try to crack you because you have no backup and you both know it.
But if you bite the bullet then more players will always arrive. No one wants to be the first one but once that first guy arrives, suddenly there's a reason to play Warden, or Detective.

It has nothing to do with antag checks. It has to do with fitting in and being identifiable as security. If they don't have an implant then that means they never went through the proper channels and might be impersonating a security officer. If you don't treat an un-implanted player in security gear with suspicion then your chance of survival plummets.
I think it's dumb that there is no antag check for changeling who is probably the strongest antag type.

If it existed it'd still fall under the same deal as implants for any other antag checks. You can't just stuncuff randomly and drag people to the chapel because there is a vampire on code green. You have to have reasonable suspicion, or a code blue/red that matches the context of what you're doing.

That's why we pay for a forum though. Because no admin is going to read every single post in the thread and everyones opinion is worth being heard. When you post here then it is likely to be missed.
When other admins have a look, they're not going to see your post. They won't notice the ban request thread then scan the entire vg thread to see if anyone posted about it.
It only takes 20 seconds to register. You could be done in less than the time it takes to make a cup of coffee.
The same goes for Github. You can have your opinion on how the server should run if you just take half a minute of your time to register and post it.

This is nothing uncommon and it happens to AFK players quite often. Even admins sometimes get drafted when we don't want to. This leads us to compensating via the give spell verb in VV which is a load of shite anyhow since it only works half of the time.
