English confirmed as true Sheepshaggers and Welsh the master of intellect and wisdom in Brittania

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yBGcxnNV34c

>The English call the Welsh sheep-shaggers due to an old trick used by the Welsh against their gullible English neighbours in medievel times, when the English had a nasty habit of fucking sheep. When Wales adopted English law they noticed the penalty for shagging a sheep was less than stealing one (due to the English's habit) so whenever they were caught stealing a sheep they would instead say they were planning to fuck it instead to avoid the fine.

Therefore there is a very long list of crimes involving Welshmen shagging sheep, although it is only the English who would actually ever fuck a sheep,

Was the widespread usage of rifles inevitable or is it the result of natural selection?

>>124922970
Swedes and Norwegians weren't relevant at the time period, Danes were the only relevant vikings to Charlemagnes time.

It's a DLC, it's not a full game, eight factions are understandable.

They said they won't make DLC for DLC because it would make them look bad, but they might update the Charlemagne DLC with more stuff in the future if they feel like it.

If that helps it probably won't take long to have every faction modded in as palyable
>>
>>124922989

>>
>>124923306
>It's literally just a line of code

It's really more than just that, they all need units, event chains, art, lot's of QA and so on

There's really no big difference between Westphalia and the other Saxon kingdoms you conquer to unite Saxony

I hope mods unlock different starting locations though

>>124923506
In Attila you sent an army there and right clicked it, like you would siege it.
>>
>>124923416
You mean Mercia, right?

And yes I know they'd all have the same units, that is why it makes even less sense that you can't play them. There is nothing extra CA have to do, except make the faction selection menu work differently I guess, with them grouped again.
>>
>>124923527

Despite the question presented being fucking retarded, I often wonder what we'd come up in some hypothetical warfare scenarios. Like, we have all technology we have today, but we establish rules on what can or not be done, how warfare ends up looking like. I guess stating "no blackpowder" would just lead us to caveats like "use some other sort of combustible", so I'm basically thinking of a restriction to most projectiles unless they use human strength.

I'm guessing we would've ended up with very elaborate slings and crossbows and some pretty cool armor, with some sort of shock infantry using some sort of halberd.
>>
Looking at Charlemagne politics, there doesn't seem to be any real penalty for going Absolute Power in the politics. You get +5 loyalty and since corruption is now capped at 60%, the +10% corruption means nothing.

As in having a bunch of units selected and then drag them in to position or is there a new shortcut for it.
>>
>>124925001
There's a shortcut I don't know, I've seen people do it.

If you control+1 selected units you can move them and they will stay in the selected formation
Control+g or clicking on the small lock will break that formation

>>
>>124925793
Why would it trigger /pol/? Mosques and churches exist in the same cities today as well and those cities are terrible shitholes, just as Spain was a terrible shithole when the Muslims occupied it.

There's nothing triggering about multiculturalism since it always proves /pol/'s point because you can just look at it and point out how much of a clusterfuck it always is. It's like watching some retard slam an icepick through his own forehead. It doesn't trigger you, it's just retarded.
>>
>Mosques
>real

Ever wondered why you only see them on TV?
>>
>>124924946
I guess something that needs to be "prepared" at the time. Like if you get a team lifting boulders and using levers to operate a trebuchet that's human strength, or one of those lever/windlass operated crossbows, but if you can't use anything that depends on electricity, fuel and so on. Maybe we remove levers and such, so that in the crossbow case it needs to be one you can pull the string yourself.
>>
>>124926224
Well I guess it shows that it is possible to build churches and live under muslim rule as a non-muslim when everything is going fine. It all turns to shit when times are hard though. And that will happen a lot.

It's hardly out of the kindness of their heart though. If anything, they have some economic incentive to keep small minorities of non-Muslims around so they can extort the jizya tax out of them.

It's better

DLC wise Sandpeople is best, followed by Longbears, followed sneaky Celts.
Viking Forefathers are not worth it.
Last Roman is alright, it's fun if you want to be Belasarius and reconquer Rome, but you really don't need it.

Charlemagne came out today and it's fun so far, maybe play vanilla until it goes on sale

>Córdoba was one of the most advanced cities in the world as well as a great cultural, political, financial and economic centre. The Great Mosque of Córdoba dates back to this time; under caliph Al-Hakam II Córdoba had 3,000 mosques, splendid palaces and 300 public baths, and received what was then the largest library in the world, housing from 400,000 to 1,000,000 volumes.
Well, that sounds nice. Maybe the Muslims aren't so bad after all. Oh wait, what's this next part

>Upon a change of rulers, though, the situation changed quickly. "The vizier al-Mansur–the unofficial ruler of al-Andalus from 976 to 1002—burned most of the books on philosophy to please the Muslim clergy; most of the others were sold off or perished in the civil strife not long after.

Yeah, that sounds more like the Islam that we all know and love.

Centuries of progress in Islam basically just means that they were going through a period of "decadence" where they barely gave a shit about the religion. Muslims thrive when Islam is mostly irrelevant to the people and everyone suffers when they go back to seriously believing in it. This is a cycle that Muslims have been going through for a very long time. For example, Al-Hakam II, the caliph of Cordoba that was best known for preserving all of those books, was also a homosexual and he had a large male harem. This is very common during these periods.

The west will look at these time periods and say, "See! Look how enlightened Islam is!" and so on, but Muslims look at it and they think that it's a shameful and disgusting period of horrible decadence. Hard-line Muslims would have murdered every single one of these leaders that made Cordoba a rich city while praising the ones that ruined it because it was the ones who ruined it that were the actual devout Muslims. There's a reason why torching the libraries was something that "pleased the Muslim clergy."

Look at India for instance. Aurangzeb was the most pious of the Mughal Emperors. He happened to be legit pious, live austerely and all that.

And it so happens his reign was the absolute worst, heralded the collapse of the empire the moment he died even if he nominally expanded it to its apex, pissed off nominally Muslim and Hindoo alike, facilitated the militarization of the Sikhs by continuing their persecution.

Compare him to the venerated and loved (by us Westerners, that is) Babur or Akbar, the later of which even tried to develop a syncretic faith to unite his various subject's faiths.

>realizing all the shit I have left to do

I'll be working on them and the Celts next.

First is getting the mod compatible with the latest release and then releasing sand-kingdoms work. Then I'd like to prioritize doing JUST visuals, no stat editing whatsoever if I can avoid it, for AoC. Then after that I would work on the celts and nords since in the process of doing that for AOC I'd get new VMDs for Norse/Saxons and Celts.

Sand Kingdoms stuff is pretty much done except for unit costs and final look-overs, I'm sure I've done some mistakes here or there. It just has to be made compatible with AoC patch.

And for the short term I am going to leave my Alan overhaul where it lay and leave the white huns as clones of the regular huns because I am not going to backtrack and do the fucking Alans again.
