I want a mod which makes it so actual settlers from nearby settlements come to help me when I shoot a flare instead of garbage minutemen with no armor and pipe pistols. That way all that combat armor and those nice guns I keep giving them will actually help me. And having larger settlements with more guys would let you get more people to help you. It would be like I'm building and equipping my own personal army as I play.
I want to be able to shoot a flare and watch 5 guys run in with heavy combat armor. All equipped with powerful guns and cramming plasma grenades up the enemy's ass.
And when they're done I want to dump all my junk on them so they can carry it back to the settlement for me while I keep going.

I like how they put some focus on these, the adult ones are hard as ball at low level and challenging enough at high levels. The whole thing with hatchlings and eggs is great too, can't wait for mods to improve it.
The mirelurk queen is also a pretty nice boss, though I wish it didn't threw acid so often.

They sure did a fine job in making these little shits int othe most obnoxious enemies in the game. Bloatflies were always a joke, and while they are still a joke, the higher level ones can one shot you hard if you don't have decent endurance.
Bloodbugs are not so bad in terms of difficulty but they are giant mosquitos, that along with the special animations they have to suck blood makes them nerve cracking.
Radscorpions digging in and out of earth is pretty good too, even if they sometimes go way up.
Stingers can eat shit and whoever design them should be shot.

Same as the radscorpion, the whole diggin in and out made them way more interesting and since they can overwhelm you in numbers so easily they can be pretty dangerous at higher levels.

Bomber jackets are often made of shearling but even the longer ones are pretty short jackets, and they aren't exclusively shearling.
Shearling is basically an inside-out sheep skin tanned with the wool still on. What Maxson has is very close to a trench coat, so you might want a shearling trench coat. You'd probably want to search "men's shearling trench coat" or "men's long shearling coat" since if you search for long coats or trench coats in general you'll find mostly women's shitwhich looks better anyway but eh :^)

There's a difference between a purposely flawed faction and the game mechanics and balance contradicting the story. FO4 has tonnes of the second issue. The BoS is shit, not because they should be but because vertibirds are giant targets with insanely stupid AI. Institute us just really poorly written. Minutemen should be awesome, but they have three quests and two features, one of which is useless (flare gun). They also have a shitload of radiant quests that aren't fun at all.
These aren't really flaws with the factions, just flaws with the game. Mods will fix it

first thing that comes to mind is crazy earl or something, scrapping things actually gives what you'd expect out of it - cars give a bunch of steel, some rubber, nuclear material, some glass, and a bunch of screws/gears
homemaker, because it's currently the most fleshed out settlement mod, alternate settlements comes second by shear original content, 3rd goes to ssex, which a meme at this point
for farming there's nxpro - auto harvesting, and a shit load of plants, allowing you to grow wild plants
crafting workbenches - self explanitory really, armorsmith for crafting your own armors instead of playing the RNG roulette
OH longer powerlines, it really is essential for any serious settlement building

I have seen vertibirds get shot down, but thats the shitty AI flying around like retards using the minigun instead of unloading troops.
But ive seen multiple times where they will go to dangerous areas on the map and fly around hunting down like 7 deathclaws in a row.
Also idk why people are saying the knights are so weak, on very hard and survival they can kill entire outposts of raiders.
And even though these guys are saying shit like oh military trained soldier can only kill 15 raiders before dying, if youre one guy running into a base of armored raiders with automatic weapons, youre still going to get punched full of holes.

I know that feel. I just sold off a chest full of like 50 worthless legendary items I had been hoarding for no particular reason, but because they were legendaries.
It's especially bad for me since I don't use VATS at all. A huge chunk of legendary effects (and perks for that matter) apply only to action points, vats hit chances, or criticals so they're completely worthless for me.
And it's even worse because I use power armor 24/7 making nearly all armor legendaries worthless as well. The only exception is charisma boosting limb armor pieces which I use for speech checks and bartering.
And I run a rifleman build so the only weapons worth getting legendaries for are the combat rifle, assault rifle, and gauss rifle. And scratch the combat rifle off that list because you can just buy a combat rifle with the best legendary effect it can have.
So when I get a legendary I roll a one in a million dice that I'm going to land a gauss rifle with a legendary effect that doesn't suck balls.
