starbound.stillevande.com
No whitelist, no name/password required, located in the US.

Of more importance, how has the past two years fared for you all? Me, I've burned a ton of hours into Binding of Isaac Afterbirth, but I wonder if anyone still cares.

glad i used amazon money from bing rewards to get it and not my actual cash desu.

That said, starbound's upgraded it's worth in cash terms in my book from $3 to $5 these past 2 updates.

built a prison a few weeks back using admin hax.

It took longer get the prisoners of the right race/facial hair by placing/removing colony deeds than it did to build it.

>mfw five hours into the game
The only good thing to come out of it was the experience.

You have my deepest sympathies.

Anybody has played the update? I'm not reinstalling this piece of shit for 5 crappy guns and a way to move faster than usual.

That looks terrible, what a great accomplishment

Re-installed to play the update. The game has definitely improved, no question about that. Whether it's improved enough to matter? Meh.

It's still plagued by all of the same problems. Combat is still floaty. Two-handed weapons get some right-click special attacks, which are alright. Armor is still boring as shit straight upgrades. Enemies have some new moves, there are a few new move patterns, but nothing mind-blowing. They occasionally drop stuff other than pixels, mostly thematic mats for crafting that I haven't found a use for yet. You also get matter manipulator pieces from them to encourage grinding. Haven't unlocked any techs yet.

Quests are still boring (though they did remove that shitty coffee quest), but I guess it's the "combat upgrade". Mandatory armor upgrades are necessary for progressing the story but it seems like ore is more prevalent. Did not mine a lot, made my way down to the core with no armor and got the core crystals. Had enough iron to make the first set of armor.

Have not tried the vehicles or deeds.

UI still sucks balls. The inventory/crafting popups *still* don't stay where you left them consistently; must be a bug. The crafting menus are still cluttered as shit, making using them a chore. That fucking ship noise is way too loud; I actively spend time off the ship because of it.

Just so I'm not totally shitting on the game, I like the way shops work. They're basically re-skinned crafting menus, so they're not limited to just taking pixels. I thought that was a clever implementation.
