I rarelly used the hellcat's APCR at the time because I was mostly flanking on the maps. The way I saw it, was that the Hellcat changed the meta of the game and having heavy armor and sitting at the base became less important.
Before, when all burgers had to counter tigers were the 76mm M4A1 and M4A2s it was a pain in the ass to kill them, and what I used to do then was fire the first AP shell at the commander's hatch, which killed the commander with the shell, and when the fragments bounced off the other side of the cupola they killed the gunner. It was pretty fun when that worked, since the Tigers didn't have their LFP visible most of the times.

I know it's 'realistic' but it'd be nice if they could balance the game so you have a single fucking chance against aircraft at parity with you. Americans are the only faction in the game with aircraft that absolutely need at least a kilometer of height above their opponent at a higher energy state or you lose 100% of them time. Lower glacis is glass so keep it behind cover. Only weak spot on the upper glacis is the MG port so try to limit exposure to the left side if you can. There's a very small shot trap on the bottom of the gun mantlet that you can negate by keeping the barrel aimed down into the dirt, which also protects the fuckhuge muzzle brake.
Keep that lower glacis shielded and you can take punishment from basically everything besides HEAT-FS .

The shell mechanics were so broken when it was first introduced that it was basically invincible, as shells would explode after hitting the spaced armour but before penetrating.

Got a M46 talisman from a trophy in the same game I unlocked M82 for it, most grind I had so far. M46 is fun as hell, shame I decided to grind M60 with M47, I never hated a tank so much apart from the 75 Jumbo. Enjoy while you can, you'll hate the M47 too.

Panther F (it wasn't even that bad) in Sim and RB along with KT(H) talisman. Got it in few days, since RP gain wasn't so shit back then (105 tiger, Maus and Leopard took me around 3 days for each tank, wtih premium).
You don't really need a talisman for the Panther II grind, but I would get it for M46 if I were you, you'll really wish you had it when you get to using the piece of shit M47. Get one day of premium each day you know you'll play the whole day, if you really want to focus on grinding
