Those bandits tend give people a tough time their first game. Either try louring them out one at a time methodically or just sprint past them. You may lose a pawn or two if you decide to do the second option.

Dragon's Dogma really does come the closest to that swords n sorcery, T.H. White's The Once and Future King feeling. Every other game seems to be trying for the feeling of Game of Thrones meets Baldur's Gate.

Trust me, if you end up being useless, it's not because you leveled the wrong vocation, it's because you suck at the game/your gear isn't up to snuff.
The game starts off reasonably difficult but then smooths out once you get to around lv15-20, so don't be surprised if you find things surprisingly challenging in the first few hours.DON'T go down into the well

On my playthrough of Dark Arisen (having played the original) after learning about stat growth I leveled 10 in Strider and then 10 in each vocation up to 100 and then 11 in each vocation up to 200 with an additional level in Mage just so my stats would be balanced and I'd have a similar playtime in every vocation so I wouldn't miss out on anything.

Guys, Im struggling to get through BB, like pretty hard, sad thing is I'm lv 117.
Had next to no luck farming the Everfall for decent gear and have been for like a week and finding gear in BBI is even harder.

Never spend RC on pawns, you need it to purify BBI gear, and it takes 30k per piece of lv.3 gear.
If you ask i'm sure people will friend you online, which will allow you to hire their pawns for free and also gives them RC when you send their pawn back.

In BBI level's hardly matter, it's all gear.
Hire pawns of your level with as good gear as you can find since the higher level ones would only have slightly better stats.
Keep those rift crystals for purifying and rarefying.
Speaking of which you should definitely rarefy your weapons. A gold rarefied dragon-tier weapon is about as good as a dragon-forged BBI lvl 2 weapon.

One of the guards gives you a quest to clear out some monsters, I think it's after you complete the stuff at the encampment.
Basically when he gives you the quest your weapons aren't going to be strong enough to do much of anything to the monsters and you'll probably die in 2-3 hits. It's possible to do, but it's bloody difficult.
What's the best way to do a pawn? I was considering making it a Sorcerer forever for stats, then swapping to Mage for spells, but I don't know if that would be too squishy for the AI.

Sorcerer is much more useful in terms of battle, you're better off using it. Mages can be helpful at the start since they can heal you, but once you hit mid-endgame you'll be overflowing with curatives. And if I remember correctly, sorcerers also have a exclusive curative spell that removes all negative status. So, in short, mage isn't worth it.

Just the basic stuff like flowers for the lady in Cassardis. Saurians and Quina can both be done after reaching Gran Soren, just don't go to the pawn guild, that'll cancel them.
