Yeah, I was actually telling my raid team just a couple days ago, the last time I logged in was like two days before Iron banner ended, I wanted to get the last 3 ranks to get the rest of the gear, I started one match, and during the intro animation I just had that "What the fuck am I doing?" moment, and just shut it off and never got back to it.
The return of the Shard grind with the oryx raid was like the first time I kind of winced, you know, did like 30+ runs of King's fall and still no shader because its tied to armor drops and I can't get the helmet to drop for me (Not to mention everything is dropping at absolute fucking minimum light) Then the second little drop in the bucket was the fact that the flaming skull thing during the halloween, a paid item was RNG based, that was just messed up (Not that I was a fan of eververse to begin with), I'm still pissed that I've had the visible hand in my inventory for a better part of a year with a fucking hole in it and no acknowledgement from Bungie that this problem even exists. So every time you go to download a patch, it first has to do an integrity check on 18gb worth of files, then it has to decompress that file, then it has to download the patch, then it has to integrate it into the file, then it has to recompress it, then it has to do another integrity check. and most of that is done in the "preparing" phase, by the time the download shows up in your progression you will have actually already downloaded most of the patch.
