Learn to use audio cues rather than visual cues. Learn the tempo of the song, the beats are all uniform to the tempo so knowing the pacing will help. That much should be obvious, but it's fairly important.
Even if you're god awful at music games you should be able to do it through muscle memory and trial and error with enough tries. Just don't leave it too long between tries or you'll lose that.
If you're really desperate then you can be a babby and look up some videos online that give visual cues that you can time to the boss by playing the video and the boss at the same time. But I think that's cheating, personally.

But yes, the plat isn't super rare as the hardest part is simply finishing the game. The rest is relatively easy money grinding/sidequests.
