I'm loving them, often able to unload a full 20 end bar of attacks into Ludwig and laurence. Visually it's amazing to play as well, feel like total bad ass. The hunter for more enemies to keep your beast hood high during the regular level is fun too. Like a hungry beast.
I just went for the first time into chalice to get these claws, don't regret it one bit I even used a blood rock on em. I don't have any experience with them in pvp, except for killing one invader as a cooperator. People will tell you they're bad, but they're perfectly viable for pve.
I did have to take them off for defiled Amy though, needed something longer to reach the arms and head in time.
I'm not getting any hits trying to get summoned in lower pthumeru chalice. Is BL 42 too low for the general population? I'm not having trouble with the mobs...

I do not fucking understand the thinking behind the barefist moveset.
They gave the unarmed fist a hugely extensive moveset, with no fucking damage.
They bothered animation and balancing of hitboxes and things for something that literally does like 5 damage on a player per hit.
You'd think as developers, who make videogames to be kind of at least fun in some regard they would go:
"oh yeah, let's give it hella mad S+++ scaling in STR and let it do damage at some point. It's got shit range, so it should at least do some damage if someone has the strength, would be a shame for all our hardwork on this moveset to go to waste"
Nope.
They then made a DLC, where they went "hey, let's add a fist weapon!"
With literally 3 fucking moves, and again, NO DAMAGE, you CANNOT EVEN GEM THE THING and not only can it be parried, it uses as much stamina as like 5 rolls.
Despite the fact that an entire fist moveset exists and they're still not using it.
"Okay....well hey we have Beastmode now, surely that must increase unarmed damage like Dragonform did in Dark Souls!"
Nope. Despite you now visibly having stronger looking arms with claws on them (Why the fuck is beast mode beastclaws not two claws, why is he still holding a stupid wooden potato), you do the same amount of shit unarmed damage.
But hey, let's have a FUCKING ALIEN TENTACLE GIVE YOU DECENT UNARMED DAMAGE THOUGH.
