Guys I just finished the lotv campaign, and I'm looking into refreshing my memories by replaying the brood war campaign. Should I play on the sc2 mod or original broodwar? Being spoilt by the sc2 ui really makes you fight the game when you play it again.

the mass recall mod is pretty good and a lot harder than bw if you play in normal or hard, I would play broodwar if it's your first time, though the story is the same in both (the mod has 2 extra terran missions that were cut off but they are marked as extra)

Can you explain how wanting mech to be competitive isn't "stupid" (irrational) at its core? You've just picked some production buildings and units that follow a non-combat theme (they're mechanical) and ask Blizzard to change the rules of the game so this theme of units you like building is viable to play on every map and against every race. There's no other group of SC2 players like the mech players. I think it's totally cool to have a composition that you like to play but it goes too far when discussing possibly changing of the rules of the game to make your little pet composition better. It all started with mech being viable in a different game and wanting an equivalent in SC2, which is not at all unlike comparing terran mech to protoss mech. The races aren't supposed to be the same and neither are the games. The completely arbitrary picking of certain terran units, the "mechanical" ones built from factories and starports, is so absurd as a basis for this whole movement that you don't even think about it anymore. Every time the mech petitioners go too far with how much they want the whole game to change to suit them, people have to come remind you how ridiculous it all is.

In specific situations. Even the carrier could be useful in specific situations. What people want now and what Nony and all other protoss players wanted back then was that the carrier could be a viable alternative for protoss late game. psychologists can't prescript medication I don't think
you need to talk to a psychiatrist. and even if somehow you could get antidepressants with no prescription there are literally hundreds of them out there, and there's no way of knowing which one is gonna work out for your particular case without professional help. its also dangerous to just try out random antidepressants, even with a psychiatrist's prescription one of the antidepressants that I got raised my blood pressure.

Holy shit guys. I sat down to play the brood war campaign and it took me over an hour and a half to complete each mission. Holy shit playing the zerg korhal mission must have had me using an army of at least 600 supply. Plus getting the army to move is pure torture because you gotta select groups and A click like an autist. Takes like 30 seconds to move the ling hydra force. And then you have clear every single building of the enemy off the face of the planet. you have to comb the map to find the structure you missed. Is this the true brood war experience? You guys told me the campaign was hard but not this hard. Holy shit

the mod is a lot more fun and if you find it too easy you can up the difficulty (hard in the mod is stupidly hard)

if it's your first time then I would tell you to play it like that, if not just play the mod, it even brings the prologue missions and 2 extra that were cut from the terran campaign, and the missions with no base can be played as a sort of rpg

well, it's not something sacred but I think it's a cool thing to experience, it will make you see broodwar pros in a different light and you might actually understand when you watch a vod of that stuff, afterall pros make brood war seem to be as easy to play as sc2
it also gives you a point of reference when people will compare both games (even if you don't play bw multiplayer)
if it gets to the point where you are not having fun and just want to experience the story you can use cheats or just get the mod
