There are turrets on top of most buildings and scattered around, not much I can do about the game being broken though.
Also, you could have 2 million defence, but if you don't head back to your settlement when you get the notification then they destroy everything. Doesn't matter if it's 200 super mutants or one measly old raider.

Have the handle be a large combination wrench with duct tape and cardboard or something wrapped around the open end.
In automotive class, I remember my teacher saying that you could make a nice impromptu bashing weapon by taking one of the larger combo wrenches, removing the piston head from a piston rod, threading the connecting rod through the closed end of the wrench and wrapping the lower end with duct tape and cardboard. Of course, the size of wrench you'd need to fit the connecting rod for a piston head would be large enough that'd it make for a decent bashing weapon in its own right, but the extra bit just added more weight and impact.

I feel like Dead Money's "the hard part is letting go" theme would've been a lot better if there was somewhere or something that cost a ridiculous amount of money to necessitate all the gold bars. Doing the USS Constitution quest by siding with the robots gets a big boost. Cambridge Polymer Labs quest is also a big one time boost.

Later, though, they almost all get one-shot by anything, which is fine, but there's little reason in not having more ghouls per pack (save for gpu usage, but mods are largely for compensating for modders' enhanced computers).

Settlements are an awesome addition, but at times the settlers seem kinda like drones. They just work and have a few stock complaints to blurt. If they perused the shops or talked to one another, it would add a lot of value to the settlements. I'm imagining an oblivion-style standing-crowd scenario where people not working would just stand around and talk or look at shops. This would go well with/include three other features:

Sentience is not self-evident by the display of emotion, logic or reason.
Further, sentience cannot be proven, i.e. you cannot prove to us that you are sentient, there's no way to prove that you aren't a machine with complex heuristics.
The takeaway from this is that, in fact, humans are complex heuristics machines made out of meat, a synth or a thinking machine could achieve a level of complexity that should qualify them for sentience, however since it cannot be proven, and there are no benchmarks, it remains an unquantifiable characteristic of life.
The better question, and the point from which this should be approached is that sentience is a quality agreed upon by other sentient beings, based on how they react to it. Sentience is not an individual characteristic then, and is justified and defined by other sentient beings observing and interacting with it.
