>What is Tree of Savior?
Tree of Savior is a new action MMORPG with a lot of classes and cute hats. IMC Games have shown an interest in an international release, and has begun testing the game in various other languages, including English and Japanese, even whilst the Korean version is still in testing. The game is currently in the beta phase, and not fully released.

I've been on the fense about Druid. I hear its Big Black Griba transformation is boss as fuck, and has a nasty dark attack that could do great synergy with hexing. Thing is, I also hear it's INT based. I'm not running an INT build here. At all. I suppose my dreams of transforming into a massive black cock and dick-slapping my foes into oblivion will continue to go unfulfilled. Unless someone knows an alternative.
Then there's Oracle. I don't have much time left, so maybe just seeing how it goes, utility-wise might not be so bad.
Laimabros and zemdudes can still make it to the next group picture with the exploit. You need to farm your qt hats though.

Go druid. also, respec into int. Once you hit rank 6 all physical options cleric has drops off. Even if you went priest you're going to want to use cure and carnivory as your main sources of damage now.
The big black griba transformation isn't too bad, but I haven't been using it since I found out that the attributes for transformations don't apply anymore after you leave the area that monster is in. So once you leave the uskis arable land where you transformed into the griba, you lose that massive 50% health boost from transforming into it.
Despite the problems with transform, carnivory is definitely worth it, especially over oracle who doesn't really have any good offensive spells.
Think it's worth doing the exploit to test classes?
I kind of want to save up some things that I've been meaning to test for next beta, so I feel like there's something to play the game for.

It's okay though as I can just sell my storage stuff. Got like 80 talts and alt. EQ lying around. There are also stuff on the market that haven't been bought yet. Getting emergency money is pretty easy that way. And for the food, I still think about which food item is the most useful one. I tend to say overall SP recovery or HP recovery ticker decrease.
Is anybody levelling the old fashion way?
I don't have any problems doing "You know what" however I won't get a good feel for my skills unless I use them in full at the lower levels against similarly leveled monsters of all type

I'll do some more tomorrow. All you have to do is do the advancement quest multiple times then reset your skills. When you reset it gives you 15 points per time you did the advancement quest. It's a pain in the ass though because now when I reset my skills I end up having to put in over 400 skill points.

So, we have a Guild Tower. These cost 5m and you purchase a Guild Permit from Uska to place them. You can place multiple towers with multiple permits.
Templar's most important skill is Build Guild Tower. It actually does nothing right now when you use it but levelling it increases your guilds features.
Level 1: Enable Warping from Tower
Level 2: Enable Warehouse access
Level 3: Guild Growth
Level 4: Guild Events available.
Level 5: Guild Base available.

Monk (was already 200 before bug) is pretty good. Okay DPS but you have great buffs and utility to go with it. It feels satisfying as fuck to one shot normal mobs with DP.
Cryo3 is fun as HELL, but pretty underwhelming in PvE. Snow Rolling has great damage but that's ALL. It's insanely strong in PvP though. Elementalist sucks.
Reiter is pretty fucking strong, but unfortunately it's clunky and awkward to use. You shit DPS from every pore but it isn't fun to play. Sad because I love gunslingers in MMOs.

Just finished testing around Rodelero3 for anyone interested.
Bottom line, it is garbage. High Kick can deal some decent damage but it has a 20 seconds cooldown and no overheat, seems like mostly it would be used to increase the damage of Targe Smash with it's debuff.
Shooting Star hits like wet noodles for being a rank 6 skill. Why get something so underwhelming when I could instead get something like cyclone? Since this skill only deals damage and nothing else.
Targe Smash is the best damaging skill in the kit, and it has 3 overheat, plus darkness debuff, so it is pretty good.
I think that most of the utility from Rodelero comes from rank 1, and a little bit more from rank 2.
- 2 sec stun from Montano (overheat)
- 5 sec umbalanced from Shield Push
- knock back (more like throwing) from Shield Charge (doesn't push plate enemies though)
- 3 seconds darkness from Targe Smash
- 1.5 second interrupt and disable from Shield Shoving
Rank 2 only gives Shield Bash, which wasn't really impressive and Slithering which can block most attacks (some still get through for some reason. Maybe Slithering could be used in group pvp to get through choke points or something, but right now there is almost no reason to take it.
I think both Hop2>Rode2 or Barb2>Rode2 are good builds, the former one gives better autoattacks and boss fights while the other one gives better mobbing and a dex/evasion build.

Jican Gu is pretty fun. Worthless, but fun. The stats of the bugs I think are tied to your character level, so they suffer from level penalties. The base damage of the bugs is about 500-600, but since it's reduced by defense, they aren't that great. It does act as a bleed that lasts 60 seconds that hits every 2-3 seconds with a base attack of about...50, but since elemental damage augments it it's not awful.

My C3 Cryo -> Sorc -> Necro has better success in the duels I have with it, I'm just entertained that Fencer kills someone's frame rate just because it pokes quickly. Outside of that, Fencer has a pretty impressive dodge and block rate thanks to Lunge and Flanconnade (even without a shield)
It's not something I expect to be all that great in Battle League matches, it's just entertaining that IMC hasn't noticed the poor optimization on Sept Etoiles yet

Umbalanced reduces their defense (doesn't say the amount, but it is not much, around 10 from my damage calculations), and apparently it makes them more vulnerable to knockdowns but I have no idea if it even works. Even after using it, I still couldn't knockback mobs that couldn't be knockbacked before.
Shooting Star is 4 hits (2 slash, 2 strike), the damage is terrible. If Seism is a 10, then Shooting Star is a 2.
Even after using High Kick -> Targe Smash (level 15), I still couldn't overkill mobs that Seism can overkill easily (and this is without any damage type modifiers).
Overall damage is decent with Targe Smash, but once that is gone everything else is garbage and there is a lot of downtime. Even then, the overall damage output is nothing compared to real damage dealing builds.

Now, if we exclude the damage factor and consider only the CC, then I think it could be really good for organized PvP.
Shield Bash reduces the highest stat of the opponent to base (so if you have 300 dex then you end up with 8 or w/e). And the duration increases with skill level, (15 seconds at level 10, with overheat so 30 seconds total if you wait).
I think it could be pretty good for disabling an opponent or taking it down fast, as well as the stuns and darkness, etc.
For this I think Sword>High2>Rode3 gives the best kit for being annoying in PvP.

It shouldn't be hard to test, except at higher Quickcast levels I noticed that the charging bar for Meteor started to behave oddly; at like level 10 Quickcast or so it would indicate level 20 Meteor well before the full bar had filled up, but at level 20 Quickcast I would get a full charge of level 20 Meteor well after the bar filled up. Beta population is a really bad indicator of interest though. People play MMOs for a sense of investment. They picture themselves playing for months, so the idea of it being wiped after a month or so kills a lot of the fun for some. I wouldn't be quite so sure. You're right that bugs found in Korea are going to get more attention, but we've had a lot of bugs exclusive to our version that we did at least get fixed.
Block list didn't let you remove people, cockatrice shit could crash a whole channel, friend list was broken for most of the beta. The only thing that still persists is that the market is really dumb after the last maintenance, but they had fixed it briefly before they broke it again. Also fairly sure Korea didn't deal with bullet hell crashing the game, but I'm not sure.
I'm not saying they're all that competent, but I do think a small amount of credit should go towards the fact they sometimes do their jobs over here.
Also, someone in the last thread commented on the file not even being in the Korean version, which would mean you can't rely on them to report this. But then, all we need is for the removal of the same hotkey file once we use the same version as Korea

The only reason that crashed was because they removed the bullet hell in the Korean version. Then did it for us but forgot to actually remove the skill. So the bosses were shooting something that out client had no idea what it was.

I just want to point out that you could totally do both. It's nice that they're working on adding more lower level content to give the game a little more variation and diversity in maps and progression (though you can just do both so whatever) but it's not like you'd have to focus on either fixing a bug like this or adding content.
The big deal is more that they didn't check what making a hotkey could allow for. But it's also something that they can rectify. That said, I think it works as a case that this game needs more closed beta testing (at least on our end) before we get an international open beta

Arrest 1 is a pretty useful support skill in paper but when I have umbo thrust, its really fucking worthless. Arrest can reduce phy def 50% off from the enemy for 10 seconds with 50+ sec cd. Umbo Thrust meanwhile has 2 overheat, 25 sec cd, and completely obliterates enemy defense.
All in all, its a pretty worthless skill coming from a pelt 3.

The game is going into open beta this month.
Despite what IMC says about it "not being ready" IMC would have clearly given milestones for development to Nexon, to secure money to create the game in initial planning stages.
IMC hasn't hit the milestones, nexon is pulling funding and telling them to release it to start generating revenue. This is a logical conclusion and not at all uncommon to happen.
We can only use what evidence we have to form conclusions on development, and unfortunately, there isn't much pointing towards IMC being competent at developing this game, unlike the evidence contrary to the fact.

The recent wave of exploits is caused by the server accepting quest restart requests without properly checking if it was a quest you've actually previously abandoned. Meant to reply sooner, I've only been tanking the 175 dungeon and basically all questing zones so far but I dodge the majority of things or block what I don't. The exceptions are basically just magic but they don't hit hard enough (even Lizardman Magicians don't feel like such a pain on this character as they did with my Necro) having at leas one skill of every armour-type's weakness makes everything pretty easy to kill.
Obviously I haven't tanked as anything else, but I'm just entertained by the fact Lunge+Guardian causes a lot of dodges while Flanconnade lets me block even without a shield. Overall Fencer is neat but now I'm flooded with Barb and Fencer skills all being useful. Lunge also means Seism does even more damage for me now

Yeah. I'm having way too much fun right now, but some people also do Sword2 -> Barb 3 -> Fencer. I have no idea if this is better or not, but Swashbuckling made leveling to fencer relatively quick, enough that I at least did make it to Fencer before the screenshot.
My only disappointment is that Pelt basically has 5 unjustified points once you get an Arde Dagger or Karacha. Umbo Blow is totally unused now but it was neat before I had an Arde as a Barbarian

From Tree of Savior's character progression point, compared to Ragnarok, you're leaving the Novice Grounds as a 12/10 Novice the moment you reach Gate of the Great King. By the same logic, Nuoridin Falls is about the point in the game where you noticed that killing monsters you're able to comfortably fight is giving you abysmal EXP, meaning you're forced to go to maps with stuff like Hunterflies and Mimics/Ridewords.
In other words, it's 101 game progression. The only reason you're upset i because you were under the impression that the game would continue holding your hand, but it won't.
