I mean, blender has one too, it's just not up to date and requires an older, outdated version. Does 3ds have updates for new versions?
Either way, it's too much work to switch programs just for a minor inconvenience. I still think blender is a bit more intuitive to use, but 3ds is probably more well rounded. I use mudbox for sculpting anyways, though bethesda games rarely get THAT high-poly. 3-4k tris for a weapon/armor mesh is pretty standard.

the pipeline for getting a fresh body or outfit mesh into fo4:
Model and texture the asset (easy, right?) in your preferred editor, and fit it to the body shape you prefer
Open bodyslide/outfit studio, load a working body as a reference (Vanillafo4, soon CBBE, or others later)
Import a your model from .obj
use the bone weights copy function in outfit studio to transfer animation skinning to the model
edit the shape properties to set up texture references
tweak shape using sculpting in outfit studio if necessary. Tweak and clean up bone weights as necessary in outfit studio
export as nif for bodies. Export as nif with reference for outfits. Save in the right place in the path to replace an outfit or the base body. (or match an .esp eventually for new outfits)
test in the game.
apart from step 1, most of that can be done in about five minutes, depending on how much tweaking is required. the bone weight copy isn't really exact enough to do a good job on the body itself, so external editing is important to make the primary body, which is why I'm dealing with the import export stuff currently. It works much better for outfits.
For a true outfit "CBBE style", instead of just loading a reference nif in step 2, you load the reference sliderset, and after importing your mesh do a quick conform all to adapt the mesh to all possible body shapes.
the workflow has a few usability snags that we are working on... Ousnius in particular is making steady improvements... but generally it's super fast.

So Im very much in the end game, all the main quests completed just fucking around looting and breaking shit until I do another playthrough.
Every time I go near Bunker Hill, shit is absolutely hitting the fan with railroaders attacking the townfolk, the brotherhood hostile to me (they shouldnt be, I never destroyed them), and the synths are allied to me (they shouldnt be, I rekt the institute) and everybodies just fucking shooting everything all day. I cant even fucking shop or do anything there, does anyone know a way around this glitch?
