Anyone here played the LSPDFR Police Mod for GTA5? Is it any good? It uses the Rage plugin hook, which doesn't work on pirated copies, otherwise I'd try it out myself. At least as far as I know, since it refused to work for me on version 1.0.350.2 of the game. It might work on the v1.0.505.2 that I'm downloading, but I won't hold my breath. I don't suppose it would be worth buying GTA5 (along with its apparently unplayable online mode) just to play a single mod, would it? Playing as a police officer sounds like a lot of fun, and some of the previews for the upcoming version of the mod do look pretty cool...

I'm just looking for something to get rid of whatever artstyle Rockstar went with for V. They went in a different direction with the visuals instead of RDR and MP3.
I'm still having a hard time putting my finger on exactly what is different though. I think it's just the lighting in general that gives characters/NPCs that sort of muddy/smooth look. Some of the PC screenshots on Rockstar's site look nice, where you can see all kinds of details in the protagonists faces, and they're still their in-game - but due to the lighting most of the time you can't really notice them, and shit almost looks like a Pixar movie.
Someone told me that Max Payne 3 has a bunch of saturation, but low contrast or some shit which makes the textures in the game "pop." Maybe that's what I'm looking for, but GTA V definitely doesn't have that.

I think I know what part of the "artstyle" is that seems off. Characters are way too shiny, and not in a "sweaty" way - like a plastic doll way. Almost too colorful/saturated too. And the game's default saturation is a bit too high, so the textures don't really pop in-game, making things (especially small/far away textures, like faces) seem almost muddy/too smooth and clean. Even post-release it looks like Rockstar still edits their screenshots, or are using some special timecycle files that aren't vanilla.

I just passed 100 hours in online, and I have to say, this game's content is severely gutted.
You can't participate in freemode events other than time trials without getting disconnected/blown up repeatedly/game crashed.
You can't participate in races because people have teleport, and the race ends in 1 minute
You can't participate in any PVP gamemode because people have godmode and exploding bullets.
What's left? 5 FIVE fucking heists with friends, mission grinding, and also spitting my guts out to get the time trials right.
It's just sad to see that so much potential is lost because of 12 year old kids who think they are the center of the universe.

Anyone else bothered by free roam pvp being snipers only on foot? I want to use assault rifles or anything else but it's just limited to 3 weapons.
There have been multiple times when someone has been standing still in the middle of a road at the distance where my (advanced)crosshair matches the size of their torso but no amount of hosing or pulsed fire will kill or rarely even hit them while they casually take shots at 10x zoom.

Does the range stat effect weapons the same as in call of duty where damage drops after the shot fires a set distance or is it just a suggestion? Any hard answer with proof or is this one of the things Rockstarofdavid won't reveal because they don't feel like it?

MP5 for CQC is excellent, if you can pop a headshot on someone before you get shotgunned, then you'll win because you get 5 headshots by the time he hits you with a single shell
It has more range than the shotgun, so you're pretty fine up to 50-70m, also its a OHK HS against AI
