>How do I connect to [server]?
1. Register on a private server that hosts the same game client you have.
2. Copy their realmlist URL. This can usually be found on the main page of the website or on their registration page.
3. Look for a realmlist.wtf file in your WoW folder. This may either be in the root folder, or inside Wow/Data/enUS/
4. Open the realmlist.wtf file in a text editor such as Notepad and paste in the realmlist settings of the server. Make sure it starts with 'set realmlist' followed by the realmlist URL.

You will need a clean wow.exe and dll files if you downloaded your WoW client from XYZ server. Check the clients section above.

Nah, not that many people here, in this thread, play private servers for monetary reasons. But the majority of private server players do. Just about everyone I've ever played with from this general had played the expansion we played, just not necessarily done all the content in it.
Because WoW is still the greatest MMO and people don't want to play the new expansions. 99% of people played on retail here.

I'm not saying naxx is hard. But at launch it was pretty hard for most of the game. It was hard to pug 10mans because of bosses like grobbulus, gluth, evem heigens dance were really hard for people. Also most people were doing 1k-1.5k dps still. I remember this rogue bragging in our 10man about how he's doing 1.5k dps. And I really rained on his parade by reminding him I did more than that the last expansion.

So guys I've got two power strips plugged into a wall which gives me an extra 14 sockets out of the original 2, and 14 more power strips plugged into those free sockets for a new total of 98 sockets instead of just being limited to two. I run every appliance in my house off of this and everything works great. You think if I daisy chain a few more strips together with the last open socket I have, then plug my computer into the final power strip I'll be able to run this game on ultra settings in crisp consistent 60fps without having to buy new parts for my computer? At least MC was pretty much pristine (besides a few oversights that are trivial to fix and will likely see a fix as a result, like the big elementals being slowable). Vanilla raids aren't going to receive the autistic level of attention TBC ones have, but I understand they have been made through similar process (getting details like patrol paths from retail videos or retail if applicable and that kind of stuff, as opposed to using numbers that "seem right" or someone not necessarily as observant has put into a website like Wowwiki).

It's not as much "super nice" but more like a NEED.
It's the second and possibly even third ones that are "nice to have". In early tier content their personal DPS is actually very competitive still (while healers don't have as much natural sustainability) and in higher-tier content there just happens to be a number of encounters they're very well suited to (like M'uru: it might be counterintuitive because shadow priests are by far the lowest DPS spec at that point and it's a huge DPS race, but multidots in P1 make them decent and the healing from Vampiric Embrace is huge in P2, giving some extra time before everyone just dies to soft enrage).

I remember there used to be a pvp private server based in Alterac Valley. You earned gold from pvp kills, which allowed you to buy pvp/raid tier armor and weapons from vendors. It had events and such to keep people engaged. I forgot it's name but remember it closing shorty after ToC hit in WotLK. But is there any server that's purely based on fun instead of the blizzlike (that includes the x2/10 bonus xp) servers. At least I hope one that's kinda like the one i remember from years back.

ZA Eagle Boss doesn't have the proper stack/split mechanics
You can bug the ZA Eagle Boss gauntlet
A'lar fire hitbox is bugged to be about 50% bigger than the animation.
Kael'thas Councillors retain threat between first phase and phase 3.
Open world is completely fucked
Dungeon bosses are fucked in general 2nd boss in Blood Furnace doesn't cast his poison pools, Kargath doesn't do his charge shit, and various other bugs
Chess event has many bugs. Movement is on a 3 second CD instead of 12 seconds, movement and turn don't have a 3 second shared cooldown, he barely cheats, and he never cheats by using empower.
Netherspite portal beams don't have a visual.
Flametongue is fucked
The mana restore of Fathom-Brooch of the Tidewalker scales with SP allowing ele/resto shamans have infinite mana. Fel Reaver's Piston heals for 500+BH every 3 seconds instead of 500 flat over 12 seconds.
