The problem with tickrate talk is that FPS games today are mostly full of casuals and the general public, to them it's this magic term that they either cannot understand or believe people who use it are just dropping memes on them. Anyone who has actually played a FPS before fully understands the situation and why 20 is unacceptable, the sad part is you can't really discuss the wide ranging implications it has without getting dogpiled by absolute retards who flood the conversation with nonsensical posts whining that either no one will explain it to them or that it's just a joke and 20 is fine.
Is 20 bad? Yes it most certainly is, for a 6v6 game with a lot of high speed movement going on you need 64 for public servers.
Am I going to freak out about it yet? Not entirely, it's possible this is just for the early beta and they will go higher later on but Blizzard needs to understand how awful 20 tick is and that they cannot keep it this way.The FOV still being so tiny is a bigger issue right now.

it's pretty ridiculous
it's kinda weird honestly, like generally hitting targets feels super easy but you feel like you lack any precision
like for example as mccree it's very easy to hit people with your revolver but to purposefully trying to land headshots is next to impossible if the enemy is not just standing still
there is very heavy interpolation to make it all feel smooth and responsive and i'm sure it will fool the average gamer
i mean i know people who can't notice the difference between vsync on/off in fps games while to me the input lag is incredibly jarring

I play on valve servers with ~60-70 ping. Still doesnt stop the fact that people with sub 20 ping or over 100 ping will shoot you around corners

I don't disagree, sort of, there are ways to do it perhaps. Expansions with a fair amount of new heroes, preferably not on a regular basis, or allowing you to earn the new heroes through just playing and earning credits. What is that voting system at the end of matches for anyways?
