Give the characters more individually-focused backstories and sidequests. Additionally, give them room to actually react and deal with things that come their way (I get that Mikleo isn't a very open person and I'm not saying him clamping down is out of character, but for fuck's sake he should have broken like three times over. All that "I'm fine" should have been turned around eventually).
Aside from that, I'd say that just fleshing out what was there already would make a world of difference. Foreshadow and explain Dezel's whole deal better. Better cover the whole "oath" thing or better explain HOW Sorey came to the conclusion about how to handle Maotelus.

It was really bullshit. Dezel broke 2 rules (the secondary lord can't break the pact and you can't armatize without being a secondary lord) at the same time and they didn't even bother explaining it properly. Having prepared Rose isn't a satisfying justification.

It changes some details and gives the characters a little more development, with more reactions towards some things, like Edna and and the fight between Sorey and Mikleo at the start of the game. Plus, the manga adaptation for the Alisha Story gives Maltran a little backstory and some scenes with Alisha as a kid.
It is difficult to find the raws, we only have the first 6 chapters for now in chinese scanlation. There is a group translating the chapters but they only did it until chapter 4 because it seems there aren't many people doing it in first place. Last time I saw a post by the person doing the translation, they were asking for more people to help.

I could make one for vesperia since that one is actually pretty hard to setup since it involves things like hex editing your save file and grinding out boatloads of things.

I know Tales always has some crazy final act after the kinda final boss, but Vesperia should have ended with Alexi, then dealing with the Adaphagos(I forget the spelling) and Duke being a tsun tsun ally or dies having faith in assisting Yuri.
God awful as Graces' story was, at least it ended without dragging on too long. The only thing making it longer than it should was the dungeon design. Wallbridge was probably the worst.

Honestly objectively speaking Eternia and (and Grace's story for that matter) is not that bad, the only reason I put them into the "meh" tier is because the way they TELL their stories is absolute shit, with both games having the worst pacing in the whole Tales series!
I mean with Eternia the actual plot doesn't really kick in until towards the end of disc 2, and until then we don't get any kind of foreshadowing or development or character engagement or nothing! I dug the fact the empire was pretty corrupt and full of bastards committing crimes against humanity, the Yuri and Flynn dynamic, oh hey Raven is kind of a traitor delivering Estelle to Alexei, LeBlanc and his "YURIIIII LOWEEELLL" "Whelp, gotta run", really most of the first two parts honestly. You could cut out a big focus on blastia and still have most of the story, and have the final part focus more on the corrupt empire. I mean, it seemed like a large portion of the council was corrupt, but after Ragou gets waxed we don't really hear anything else about them beyond they decided to support Ioder instead. Really, the story would have been much better if the empire became the main focus over the blastia, even though it wouldn't have apocalyptic implications, but quite frankly "the end of the world" is played so much in jrpgs that it's kind of lost its significance. I always thought the P4 got as big as it did was because it just felt like it was a more small scale, localized event.

Personally, I wish they would just move on from Zestiria. I'm a huge fan of Tales games, but this one isn't sitting well with me. The battle system is all over the place, the camera is beyond worth saving and I haven't really clicked with any of the characters. I'm hoping at the very least Berseria can make up for this, but who knows at the point.

What's confusing about it? Made perfect sense to me. It's spoilers since it takes place after the main story. You can play it any time though, even without having touched the main story at all. Your equips, items, and funds will just be from a preset. The GE2 DLC is not yet released but it's good that this announcement basically ensures that we'll be getting it. You get extra monsters to fight, and the warning probably means you can't fight those monsters as long as you're playing the DLC content.
The only thing wrong with it is when it talks about Alisha's answer. The game itself hates her, and the DLC didn't do much changing that around.

I only think so much on a Tales game based on how much I see put into it. Abyss gives you a calendar, language, currency and prices changing depending on where you are in game, politics, religion, architecture, technology and a ton of other stuff. Graces gives... politics and science kinda?
I see no point in any speculation into Graces' world at all. Even the Amarcians which started out as interesting managed to bore me.
