I figured since it was covert you could do it without pissing them off. How wrong I was. That quest was an absolute CLUSTERFUCK of factions fighting, and I made a save after accepting it, so I couldnt go back.
Imagine like, 30 Railroad soldiers fighting 20 BoS knights with several Synths being spawned in from Courser grenades. They all want to kill you except the synths.
I really wanted ballistic weave so I could wear something other than Vault suit, good thing you can console it in to be usable.

Hello, /vg/. Need some help fixing a bug in Fallout 4 that I caused, involving a fucked up quest stage in Mass Fusion.
Got to Mass Fusion, but wanted to do some other quest involving Ingram first. I read online that I need to use "resetquest xxxxx" in order to reset her dialogue tree.
It worked, but now I can't actually do the Brotherhood aspect of Mass Fusion.
Originally, my intent was to slaughter those other guys (I'm omitting the name of for the sake of avoiding spoilers) myself and then come back to The Brotherhood and do Mass Fusion. Figured that'd be the most effective way to go about it, right? But that fails it, so it's not an option.
Short version:
I can't fucking figure out how to reset the Mass Fusion quest.
"resetquest instmassfusion" just removes all markers, as does "setstage instmassfusion X" with "X" being 5, 10, or 15 and the current stage, while bugged, is 20. I was at the point where I just have to get on the Vertibird.
Would spawning the Vertibird work? Is there a way to?
Also, Para-Medic companion mod when?

I've had similar problems with that quest as well, but I never solved it just moved on.
As much as I love the 50's tunes, they should really relegate the music to "old-world" or "backwards-looking" factions, and have different factions produce different aural aesthetics. like, imagine a kind of electro-valve music, using pip-boys and the like to create robotic tunes? or primal, atavistic percussive music for Legion-like factions. not just background music, but diagetic, produced by characters within the story, within the factions.

Because that's the entire theme of Fallout. Retro-futurism. Rules to follow:
1. Transistors were never invented, let alone quantum devices. That means computers are fucking huge and PCs contain only limited amounts of data.
2. The USA's 50's optimistic and sugar coated culture never died out.
3. Lots and lots of reliance on nuclear power and radioactive materials.
4. Isolationism and exaggerated patriotism.
All this with a coating of parodying the culture of callousness and lack of accountability which plagues the US right now: People ignoring health and safety protocols, testing shit on unwilling citizens, firing people over petty bullshit while also preventing them from getting a job elsewhere and withholding whatever pension funds they have, etc.

I think you're massively missing the point of what I'm trying to say - both the particulars of cultural habits of wasteland factions, and the general characterisation of the Fallout gimmick. Like, I accept all that, but that's literally all Old World logic and culture, that sets the stage for the Fallout alternate universe. I'm just saying that the exotic post-war factions shouldn't be railroaded into regurgitating the 50's gimmick if their material development isn't actually reliant on reusing the worn parts of the Old World.
