I had a similar experience with Keeper, except I had 8 inch nails, light crown and godhead by the end of depths 2. Bosses died almost instantly due to three overlapping bullet auras.
I picked up fate's reward and bffs in blue womb (adding a 4th, even more powerful bullet), Hush died in like 30 seconds, damage resist be damned. Moving on to cathedral, Isaac died in like 3 seconds. In the chest I decided I'd do a double feature, plowed my way to blue baby and plundered his anus before going back to the starting room and on to mega satan, where I kicked the shit out of him.
The second most overpowered run I've ever had in this game.

It's a garbage seed by and far, but gives a good bit of cash and has a Donation Machine + Hourglass in Cellar II. The Hourglass trick still works for maxing donation machines, and I've read that number of coins you can donate is seed based. I got there with 48 coins and can donate 26 in a row.
If any of this is true for anyone else, might be a useful seed for maxing that stupid machine.

How to improve this game:
Shorten it. Get rid of "[x] floor part 2." All areas have a single level. Devil rooms can appear on basement "1". Remove Sheol from automatically appearing at the end of womb 2 and instead give it a chance of appearing in the devil room instead of the items. Make Sheol easier, and get rid of Satan as a boss. Replace him with harder versions of bosses from Depths 1, and bosses from Womb 1. After defeating them, you are awarded 3 devil room items. Apply all of this same thing to the Cathedral. (Appears in Angel rooms, is easier, no Isaac boss, create new bosses for the Cathedral (harder versions of the Angels could serve as some) and reward with 3 angel room items. Moving on from Cathedral or Sheol will bring you to the level you would have originally transitioned to next.
Chest as a level can be accessed after the Mom's Heart/It Lives endings have been gotten, and is where you transition to after you beat It Lives. Once the Chest has been beaten normally, "Chest" rooms have a chance of appearing in the first 3 levels, with a 100% likelihood of appearance starting in the basement, and decreasing to 50% in caves, then 20% in Depths. They work like Item Rooms but require no keys. This is an easy way to decrease the amount of time the game takes for a skilled player, and actually introduces nice risk-reward mechanic, as does the Sheol/Cathedral reworking.
After ??? is beaten once, introduce more alternate floors. (more than the 9 alts already there.) MAYBE add 1 or 2 floors after the Chest, have Dark Room be the random Chest alt.
Introduce more enemies for the different alt floors, get rid of some of the useless items. The game is already looking much better than it was.

Kind of slowpoke here because I only started playing a while ago and I've never checked this general before, but I just found out you can take no damage from the horizontal spiked doors in cursed rooms simply by walking at a certain speed (apparently as soon as you start accelerating). Didn't by itself. Found Shard in a shop after having Diplopia, went back a room, dropped my Credit Card on the floor, went in, Doubled stuff, picked up the dupe'd shard, went back a room, dropped it, reentered and picked up the shard and used it which is when Blank Card appeared.

The Gold Star, can be a trinket or collectable, clearing out the entire floor of enemies gives you an item/pickup drop, the reward improves going further down. If there are enemies in the secret/top secret room, you have to get them too.

I'd add cursed eye to this list. Not quite as bad but being teleported out of a boss fight at 5% remaining life is infuriating.
I can satisfyingly say that megastan is the worst boss in this game hands down.

Has anyone here run into the issue where you automatically use spacebar items twice for whatever reason (obviously even without the car battery)? You can see this if you can't use things like Bob's Rotten Head, if you lose two battery charges at the same time, or if you place the portal item twice in the same spot.
Can I do anything about this from my side or do I have to accept that this game hates my computer?

but on a real note any of them if you plan on breaking the game using the glowing hourglass, isaac technically the easiest since he can reroll the starting items for the blank card but holding R is just as easy. If you don't feel like doing hundreds of 1c donations using the hourglass then you should just rotate through the roster since beating greed mode with one character lowers the jam percentage for the others.

megastan isn't really that bad
even an average endgame loadout can take him with empress/strength cards
if you put a skilled azazel in there with nothing but dry baby, wafer, starter deck, empress, and strength, my money would be on azazel
and then there's shit like brim/ludovico or chaos cards which just fuck megastan and his boss rush sideways
outside of normal chest/dark room fare, the best shit to have is meat shields, bloody lust/lusty blood, empress/strength/devil cards, etc.
also guppy rapes him just like any other boss
the shit you want to bring into megastan is the stuff that exploits the following:
>the fight takes place in a single room
>there are over 15 enemies throughout the fight, many of which appear together
>you'll probably be taking a good bit of damage
>there are a lot of projectiles at all times
also, remember to use bombs if you've got them, especially if you have something like sad bombs/brimstone
really the only reason getting megastan wins is hard is because it's a pain trying to get the keys, which is truthfully less to do with not getting devil room items (angel room items are usually better on megastan anyways) and more to do with devil rooms showing up when you want an angel room

Yeah I know what you're saying, maybe I'm just pissy because I had to go through the gauntlet of doing mega satan with all of the characters for achievos. For most of them I did hush and mega satan in the same run and hush was never a problem where as simply getting to megasatan was a headache half the time. Having a run die in the cathedral because angel rooms refused to spawn made me salty as hell. The one time I died because the screen scrolled away from my character with bullets on the screen was infuriating, and resetting for 30 minutes with the lost because I kept getting hit my miniboss stray bullshit also put salt in the wound.
He's not unbeatably hard or anything I just really don't like the fight and how you have to get to it.

Upgraded keeper is playable with the nickle but unless they fix the exit/restart glitch lost is virtually invincible.
Now keeper with swallowed penny is arguably better than the lost but the tear delay from inner eye is so fucking hard to overcome.

What is stopping people from using the savestate exploit with Keeper. I know I did it far fewer with Keeper compared to Lost.
Keeper's strength is that good play gives you lodsemone, combined with shop key gives you your pick of the store items. Devil room is a lot less reliable in comparison what with brimstone being so rare and items that are redundant on Lost like pit lord, night spirit, guppy paw, etc.

it's been fixed so you can't do it. But with the lost if you get hit and it removes your holy mantle you can exit the game and resume and the room resets including your holy mantle. Basically infinite retries as long as you don't get hit twice.

The main problem with the lodsemone idea is that shop items are generally way weaker than devil deal items, and since the keeper's coin hearts count as red health for some reason you can't even try to get angel rooms either unless you just don't get hit period, which is hard on a character with Maggy levels of speed.
Also having -2 luck is kind of garbage.

Less than a week after the game's release, dataminers on reddit were desperate to find all the secrets and get all the unlocks for the game, the most notable being The Lost (which was infamously datamined in 109 hours, although the case could be made that the BoI community was close to working out the puzzle anyway).

In almost all cases it's a dps down since your tear rate is basically cut in 1/3rd and the liklihood you're going to connect with all 3 shots is pretty slim. Plus picking up charge items or additional tear down/tear delay up items and you're fucked.

Mom's knife, brimstone, monstros lung, etc all suck with inner eye and quad shot and those items by themselves can usually carry a game.
