The bavarians events, I can see some going in, some not going in. Stuff like dynastic questions could come as some nice flavor but stuff like Trias I would need to read about.

I recently tried a test game with Mexico that went well until Manifest Destiny where I handily beat the USA with the help of New England. It all went well until the American Civil War where New England wonI really wanted the USA to win, became the USA and instantly did Manifest Destiny again. Only this time I couldn't refute it.

I let /gsg/ start me up originally, but without a poll, I just let the first person give me a character and goal. It was to start as Charlememe and remove Muslims from Iberia, after that I start polls for everything. A lot of times CK2 gets boring once it becomes a blobfest, I think switching every so often makes it much better, as usually you aren't the biggest or even one of the biggest.
Mega Campaigns are extremely boring though, CK2 isn't bad, Eu4 is torture unless you play as a colonizer/warmonger and Vic2 is actually pretty fun, I have yet to start HoI3 so I can't tell you about that. Ultimately it's up to you, but be prepared if you want to finish it.

Humanist+Religious.
Under what circumstances would this be good?
Only thing I'm really seeing is after Cossacks where you can convert provinces to other cultures than your own at a discount.
So with lesser threshold and being able to culture convert away really minor cultures to mid sized cultures you could get more accepted cultures with a HumRel combo.
Stability Cost+Religious Unity could be nice maybe for using paper mana cheap for stability, and in turn unrest, so very low unrest with Hums own unrest idea.
Later on you can just rely on lvl3 Advisors for high stab imo.
Otto/France have poor synergy with getting both Rel and Hum I guess since you don't need to convert at all if you have their ideas with humanist.
A Humanist Indian Sultanate would only need to convert away heretics.
So only Sikh if you'd flip to Hindu, so Rel would be mostly wasted then.
I guess there's a lot of Sunni in the world so as Sikh Gujarat it would be a little more useful, but with +75% religious unity not really.

I'm inclined to agree with you, at least with the military portion. I like to have all my armies be of the same composition and preferably of the same culture. It's annoying as fuck when you are a large country and/or you have to rebuild lost armies. It doesn't help the way the whole soldier system works, with soldiers being drawn from individual pops in each state. It'd be better if all soldier pops contributed to a much larger manpower pool. At the very least, it would be preferable if they were drawn from the state level rather than the provincial level.
