I bought Ageod's Civil War II in the sale and fuck me I have no idea what I'm doing. I've played multiple campaigns in Revolution Under Siege so I'm pretty comfortable with Ageod's engine. Still, so far I haven't been able to pull off the simplest actions in CWII. My generals are constantly pissing on any orders I give them, unit cohesion drops to half after one turn and I lose every single battle, no matter which side I pick. If I convert an EU4 save to V2, what determines the level of industrialization the nation I'm playing will have, or if it'll be civilized at all?
What's the point of HoI? I'm interested in the interwar and ww2 eras but there doesn't seem like there's much to do other than blob, at least in HoI3. From what I've seen you pretty much just fight wars and blob, you don't manage the internal affairs of your new clay or anything of the sort.
Is Hoi2/Darkest Hour any different? Or is the whole series just a war simulator?
