I always start with Guardian. It feels really weird to be a Sentinel or Consular.

I think the glitch where you can fly to odessen pre-65 is still there (if it's still a glitch). You can buy supply packs for 50comms each if you plan on upgrading your alliance in Chapter 9 of KotFE.

Yes, you can bring companions everywhere.
For normal groups there is a limit of 4 people including companions. So you can have 2 and 2, 3 and 1. or 4 players 0 comps.
All companions are now able to switch between the three roles as well, and you no longer need to worry about gearing them appropriately.

you'll get most of your influence from gifts anyway, especially if you're not using your old class comps in KotFE so it doesn't matter if you tell them you're going to poison their water one of these days or not, the influence gain is like 50% less on disapproval than approval iirc so you can just tell them to sod off if you feel like it rather than having to suck up to them in conversations so you don't lose the affection you just bought with the gifts

You can't put up stuff that requires Valor rank, for example. I found that out by some guy having a bitchfest in the Fleet on ToFN. it depends on your own playstyle, as with many things. When I'm going against a jugg that has overwhelm specced, it's annoying. It's not a huge deal, but in certain situations it is VERY annoying. Especially when you don't have that CD to get away from it. Or you do and you use it, only to have the jugg reset ravage and charge you again.
I also understand not taking it, but dismissing it completely is stupid.

I recommend endure pain utility that purges movement impairing. Cooldown is 15s longer but you gain 30% health AND immunity to movement impairing for the duration (10s). Mad dash utility only removes it and doesn't last.

It seems I managed to absolutely fuck up the augment market on my server. Prices on all augments have dropped over 60k each since I started listing around 300 augments a day 3 weeks back.
The only segment I hadn't setup augment crafting for was armstech but last weekend I got my armstech companions to 50 in influence and crafted away. And I kind of just managed to crash the fortitude augment market in just 5 days. The augments started at 120k when I entered the segment and they are now down below 80k each.
The fun is over I guess. Soon it makes better sense to just sell the slicing components.

It really comes down to do you want to be ranged or melee? Commando is ranged and vanguard is melee. On my server (shadowlands) pub side though, I feel we probably need more tanks so I would say go Vanguard. Levelling as a tank though is less effective than levelling as a healer. In a flashpoint you'll probably get torn up as if you were a dps even if you do have your tank stance and generator running.
So I guess Commando then.

I mean the whole republic privateer thing sucked, but it wasn't as bad as people say considering you get to

It also sucks that the criminal empire thing is never mentioned again, but Makeb + SoR don't work for DS smuggler anyway. KOTFE was brilliant though, out of all the classes I think smuggler is the only one that works for the whole Valkorion
arrangement. Wouldn't make much sense for a selfish criminal to be willing to die heroically in defiance when they could
instead share power with the most powerful being in the galaxy.

From an RP stand-point it seemed like a no-brainer, especially when facing being more powerful than the smuggler in 1v1.
If you want to get a different KOTFE experience, I recommend trying smuggler. I had much more fun than I had with my defiant characters. Lots of power-hungry smuggler unique dialogue anyway.
Something like a sith inquisitor sucks in comparison in that route, it just feels like Valkorion is holding your power

I think it's more humorous and more of a ''struggle'' than any of the other classes, as you were never some protege with A++ in every class in a military academy or taking down the Jedi Order's Battlemaster, you were just a random smuggler with a stolen ship and a blaster and not the descendant of an ancient and powerful Sith Lord.
I like playing a ruthless crime lord but I decided to tell Valk to sod off, mostly because my character doesn't want the help of others because he's been betrayed so many times in the class story and for some reason he seems to be the only one capable of getting things done as some guy with a blaster and a scattergun in a galaxy filled with ancient evils and super-powered beings wielding glowing bats.
I think the relationship between Valk and the MC is better on somebody like the Smuggler, it feels like he really means it when he says you're a part of him which he wishes to keep because there really isn't anything for him to gain from playing you.

I agree based on the Warrior supposedly coming from some known, but un-named, Sith bloodline and the Inquisitor being a former slave. However, if you ignore the "used to be a slave" deal I feel like a pureblood Inquisitor - or, Sorcerer, at least - would be cool given their more extensive use of the force.
On such a note, I played through the SW story as a human juggernaut and have just reached Voss as a human sorcerer. I enjoyed the warrior story, am enjoying the inquisitor story, and have enjoyed both classes though I prefer being melee and prefer the warrior's aesthetic. Is being a pureblood cool enough, and being a marauder different to a juggernaut enough, that I might want to hit up a new warrior? My other temptation is to finish the inquisitor story, re-spec my juggernaut to immortal because tanking is cool and marauders can't do it, removing the "should I be a marauder?" question from my mind, and continue with him from his ascension to Darth-hood.

From my very shallow understanding, you have to be just a decent player who pays attention to the combat at hand to make it good as a marauder. They're good at DPS, since that's what they were made for, but too many people don't know how to play them well so the class gets a bad reputation.

Having played multiple guardian/juggernauts as well as multiple marauder/sentinels to 50+...
I have personally never felt like mara/sent dps flows as well from one ability to the next as juggernaut does. Burn/bleed spec can but the ataru form spec feels like frantic button mashing a lot of the time. That said it is noticeably higher dps when you use your buffs and button mash harder which is kind of nice.
You can get punished big time for not using rebuke/cloak at the start of a fight, if 3-4 mobs all decide to shit on you simultaneously. If one of them happens to stun you and you don't have the utility to use it while stunned or if it's just on cooldown from a previous fight you'll probably get at least a little bit fucked. Personally can't really claim to be fond of the predictive nature of rebuke either as while it is true that force sensitives have precognition, players themselves do not. Without a way to stabilize or recover I personally feel like rebuke/cloak aren't really fun skills.
There have been major quality of life improvements though, in that the 99% damage reduction skill no longer takes half your hp when it runs out and with utility points you can get a little self heal (I'm not even actually sure if that utility is good).

Could be interesting to at least give this a bit of a go, compare the feeling of a kind of slow and purposeful, balanced fighting style to a really aggressive-feeling, more fast-paced style. I can't help but feel like juggernaut and marauder shouldn't be different classes - that the warrior/knight should be able to change spec between one- and two-sabre stances - but there we go.
Looked at rebuke/cloak, quite an interesting ability I suppose but you're right in that you don't want to have to wait a minute between packs of trash mobs for it, but you don't want to rely on knowing when it'll be wise to use it. I suppose useful precognition sometimes eludes even force-users!

There's two things. Legacy perks and legacy unlocks.
Legacy perks are only for a single character, it helps that character level faster or provides quality of life upgrades (like improved speeder piloting).
Then there's legacy unlocks which has it's own tab which unlocks things you can use across your entire legacy. Your legacy itself is a system that connects acheivements and their associated rewards, as well as all stronghold related activity throughout every character you make on your specific server.

Yeah, when Manaan comes up in a tactical pop, I just apologize to the group, tell them that I do not believe the place is worth our time, and leave. I mean, I've gotten past it in a 3 dps / 1 healer group, but it was painful. Without any healer at all, the fight is just badly designed.
The third fight is better, but still quite lacking. You've gotta get the boss under the fire to debuff him, yet the healing stations are spread out too much, and the boss seems to switch targets randomly (though it might just be an aggro drop?). So if one person goes to a distant kolto station, there is the risk of the boss following and the group missing out on that chance to debuff him.
In other tactical flashpoints, there certainly are overtuned fights (like the last boss in Maelstrom Prison) and broken fights (like the Valk and Jos fight in Blood Hunt where the knocked-off recovery thing doesn't always work), but Manaan was just straight up not properly redesigned for that mode. Someone just went through the motions instead of actually considering how the boss mechanics would affect matters, and it shows.

Lana is currently the one true potato for players as in kotfe previous romances have not rejoined yet and the other romance option is koth. I assume someone, somewhere, has done the koth romance.
No matter who you romance through your class quest, in sor and kotfe you can basically start hitting on lana instead and at the end of current kotfe content you can get a scene where it's all "WARNING: YOU ARE ABOUT TO ENTER A ROMANCE WITH ANAL KENOBI WOULD YOU LIKE TO PROCEED" and you can confirm/deny. No clue if doing so will lock you out of hitting it and quitting it so you can switch to the new hotness once the old characters start returning.
