I can't accept it. Not in an early access game while we wait three months for one perk. Crates are bullshit and any company that puts them in their game willingly deserves to go out of business.

Personally, I think it should be a passive that could be improved upon. At level 25 you have a passive of 5 percent armour repair, and there is a perk at twenty to increase that to 10 percent.

That way we can make free armour an actual viable perk, by introducing or moving another perk to the same tier (I suggest nano bot, or maybe a vampire. Something equally inconsequential but allows for different gameplay)

Tripwire seems to have no direction with many of their perk trees. What do you personally suggest, ded friends?

Any perk that isn't Medic can take out Scrakes pretty fast.
Demo, Zerk, and Firebug are the best for Fleshpounds, Commando and Support are just too risky to be trying to use your SCAR/AA12 to take them out by yourself.

Concerning Scrakes:

>Commando
Use SCARs, or if unavailable, AK12s to take their heads off, aim for the face.

>Support
Use AA12s to the face (or failing that, the chest) to shred them. DBSs will also be effective, assuming proper application (twinshot to the face at extremely close range).

>Berserker
An empty Pulv, is said to be fairly effective against them, as is the Eviscerator (ranged attacks).

>Demo
While unconventional, dud rounds from an RPG can be very effective against Scrakes. They can take their heads off or even knock them down.

>Medic
The 401 Med Assault Rifle is surprisingly effective against Scrakes when fired to the head. One full mag to the face on a HOE Scrake can obliterate more than half of its health.


Concerning Fleshpounds:

>Commando
Use grenades to begin with, then aim for the face (or at least, the glowing chest) with SCARs, or if unavailable, AK12s.

>Support
DBSs are adequate, but the AA12 trumps the rest. Aiming for the glowing chest or head will result in significant damage inflicted.
The M4 is useful for stumbling Fleshpounds, but is outdone by the AA12 in terms of rate of fire and damage, so the M4 is generally the poorer choice.

>Berserker
The Pulv is arguably more effective than the Zwei thanks to explosive damage. Use the heavy hit against the Fleshpound's chest. Berserkers carrying the Zwei for Scrakes and the Pulv for Fleshpounds will have nothing to fear, even on HOE.

>Demo
Putting aside Nuke, C4 and RPG rounds are most effective. Grenades may also stun Fleshpounds, with the appropriate Level 20 skill taken.

>Medic
While less effective than against Scrakes, the Med Assault Rifle remains effective when fired at the head. However, your focus should probably be on healing.

Whether you embrace these instructions or not, be sure to adapt your play style as appropriate.
Know this, the update WILL bring nerfs to the Zwei, Wave Gun and Nuke. Players who have grown too reliant on these things will suffer.

Except it's objectively inferior to the Zwei an an empty Pulv because Pulv's explosives don't do head damage.
Smash doesn't work with it either.
Pulv's recovery time with ammo is too slow to justify it.

All 3 will still be better than the Pulv, flame thrower, or concussive force.

More Zeds on the map at once.
Compared to KF1, the zeds seem to attack in much smaller numbers at once, there are many long breaks during a wave where there is absolutely nothing to shoot.

Don't forget stuff like less ammo cost for Support, which was raised into ridiculousness. Also, it's not only the Zwei that needs nerfs. Getting 100% more damage on hard attacks with one skill is fucking stupid. The game has completely made parrying unnecessary because of how much damage the Berserker can output and how much it can tank with one Medic up his ass. He needs small nerfs in other areas to make parrying a necessity against larger zeds so it actually takes skill.

I'm pretty new to the game, so I feel like asking a few questions. Currently playing support.
1. Should I keep the trench gun or sell it for a boomstick?
2. Is it better for me to just rush the M4 shottie or the AA-12? After I get the AA-12 what other gun should I buy? Boomstick?
3. Should I use dual 9mm pistols? I'm having fun with them but dunno how cost effective it really is.

A supplier icon with a green bar below health/armor for when a Support/Demo is using their supplier perk.
It seems dumb if you have to announce that you have supplier on as Suppoer/Demo, since you have to run around or in front of people for the "press e to take from supplier" to pop uo.
Grenade supplier is kinda useless compared to on-contact but Ammo supplier compared to 20% more starting ammo and carrying capacity depends on if people are actually taking ammo from you or not.

AA-12. Then the Medic Pistol to heal people since (unless you're playing on Normal) you're gonna be skrimping dosh to the AA-12. At that point you'll be close to Hans and thereby you'll need the healing darts AND AA-12 to help survive Hans.

Sometimes I think it would of been best to not have certain zeds have overall type resistance and let the weapons speak for themselves.

I like the idea that certain spots on zeds deal less damage then others so aim for certain classes is encouraged but maybe the weapons should have default damage on zeds.

Pulverizer's bash could knock down a SC, though I forget if certain perks (Parry or block) are required,

if those perks are necessary, then the zerk must parry first.

Zerker: A bizarre melee/projectile type class that specializes in stumbling zeds, The zerker can save a teammates life from that fleshpound or scrake about to deal the final blow to a teammate. Weapons weak towards zed armor but aiming towards zed armor increases stumble chances. Can also cause moderate knock downs.

Support: A class that packs damage but with a low ammo count, Shots penetrate zed armor and zeds themselves. At a close range aim for the head, at a distance aim for the center of zeds bodies to maximize damage output. decent stumble ability

Commando: A class that can focus on single shot/full auto headshots or body shots. Considered the all around class in the sense it can deal constant damage on a target or take its time to aim for the head for greater damage with multiple shots and keep up fire to take out multiple zed crowds. Weapons weak towards zed armor.

Medic: The healing class that specializes more on keeping team mates healed and armored up. Can deal solid body damage and headshot damage. Has the ability to sedate zeds once with heal darts. The bigger a zed is the more darts it takes to sedate them. weapons weak towards zed armor.

Firebug: A class that focuses more on constant damage output and clearing weaker zeds rather then big zeds. Weapons do not specialize in dealing headshot damage so aim for the zeds body. Firebug specializes in causing panic in zeds. Making heavy zeds to cause damage towards themselves and other zeds around them (Fleshpound smashing itself and others around it trying to put out the flames, Scrakes swinging its chainsaw in a panic)

Demo: A class that has low ammo and low fire speeds but deals massive damage towards zeds in groups and alone. Weapons do not specialize in headshots so aim for a group of zeds feet to maximize explosive radius to clear groups or aim for the body to maximize the damage output towards one certain zed and some zeds around it. Also has decent stumble and knockdown abilities.

Pulv is very strange. I've never done extensive testing on it but the explosive right click feels bugged. It doesn't knock down Zeds even when you hit the correct spot, especially online. But if you switch to an empty Pulv, it works all of a sudden.

I could accept Supports extra carrying capacity not being passive anymore, its alright as a skill but 5 just doesn't feel enough, though its better than nothing.
I could understand grenades not being bumped up in how much you carry anymore, that seems like a thing suited for demo anyway and 11 was just over the top, as nice as it was back in kf1.
I could put up with welding being a lot less effective, its not as overpowered as it was before and being a one timer, makes you think when to weld a door up and give a team a breather rather than just one while area denial. Plus I was never one for it anyway.
I could deal with ammo being a bit less in quantity for you and up in price, because if you're good, you can easily use your penetration and power to get through crowds and have some still in the back.
Oh wait.
Support has no power anymore, the one main thing to at least keep it useful in this game, actually fighting zeds as main gameplay, you've made the classes too soft in damage. Not only have you taken versatility, a.k.a ways to support like welding doors or extra carrying to help pick up dead teammates weapons, you've ruined the damage bonus too to give the team extra firepower on crowds or big guys getting up close. Take one or the other, not both, otherwise you're making the term "support" mean nothing.

Move relatively fast while in air and have bat like arms with razor talons as hands, swoop down quickly in an aerial strike, when on the floor it will try to jump up and strike back down in the same gliding fashion, when grounded it will be slower and when close to you, will try and slap you but will be relatively weaker compared to if it was doing an air attack.
Think a hit and run type of zed, like a (slightly weaker) gorefast of the skies.

Yeah free armor is broken as fuck so here's how we balance it out: During actual wave time, Medics can only heal up to 50% max armor on any single person whether they have full hp or not. During trader time, medic can give full free armor. This way gives a little leeway for the medic in case a zed blocks the syringe/syringe homes in on someone else, teammate steps in the way, etc. and the person's not completely shit outta luck if a fleshpound decides to fuck them up before the medic's syringe can get to them.

Oh, and also, the point of the Commando is that he can deal with any zed bar the large ones from a safe distance.

Put a Commando to cover a flank in which he has space, and nothing will get through or even get close provided he's good. He doesn't need a Medic healing him constantly like a Berserker does (because on HoE it is a guarantee he's going to take small amounts of damage from time to time which can easily add up if a Medic isn't on him), and he's not a Firebug that needs to get close and can't deal with Husks or Sirens (without wasting MW gun ammo which is quite valuable on HoE, and which needs to take damage from Sirens to kill them most of the time too). Those two perks being the best at killing zeds (aside from nuke Demo which is a whole different story) are better off covering where zeds primarily come from and are more bound to be disorganized or getting aggroed all over the place, basically where a Commando loses effectiveness. Instead, Commando goes on the flank, where the Medic doesn't need to pay attention to and can focus on one part of the battle, and where the Commando doesn't get much traffic and everything aggroes on him, and he can cover everything, allowing the rest of the team to focus on one part just as well. Large zeds are the Commando's only problems, but any perk is going to need help from the team to down a large zed on HoE anyway, so it makes no difference.

Of course, this all means that if you are cheesing a HoE game in a corner with a Zerker wall, then Commando IS useless, but if you need to do that with an organized team, you are a shitter.

Support needs what made it great at the very start: gaining +2% extra shotgun damage per level, not 1%
If you're going to have a shotgun to the face, the damage should be lethal but it isn't, it takes more effort to take down a scrake than it deserves to.
Support should be strong and beefy, especially considering you're up front with the zerk, but your main thing is to demolish crowds in a single shot and blast scrakes/fps to make his life easier.
Of course to compensate, be a bit slower than everyone else in movement and reloading unless tactical reload, so you have to fall back for your own breather and step up when something massive happens. Be good support to the team when positioned, but have that flaw when singled out where it wont be an easy ride due to the slight sluggishness.
Also buff those skills.

Treat the flamethrowers and the microwave gun as semi auto weapons. This allows you the most damage per ammo consumption, especially with the microwave gun.

Some people like to pop heads of trash with the caulk n burn, but instead I aim near the feet to create ground fire underneath zeds, resulting in bonus damage. It's especially useful in a door chokepoint.

The optimal loadout is microwave + caulk n burn, just keep the one you start with until you get $1500 for the microwave gun. The flamethrower lacks the damage needed for large zeds, and the trench gun just isn't that good at all.

The microwave gun does radiation damage, and the two zeds that are weak to this damage type are scrakes and Hans. Once you unlock the double splash damage perk at level 20, the splash damage of the microwave beam does twice as much damage as the direct hit from the beam. This means you will have to tap-fire the microwave gun near the enemy's feet. Use the alt fire to push big zeds away from you if they get too close, you're very squishy with only 100 hp.

Not quite in my opinion. Get the Flamethrower as soon as you can afford it and if it isn't yet a wave with large zeds (you can even afford to use the Flamethrower for the first wave of Scrakes where you get 2 of them max if you have a good Zerker). You will kill zeds a hell of a lot more easily, making the investment easily worth it and making you more capable of contributing money to the team even with your MW gun purchase once it happens.

Is the Caulk n' Burn really that good? I haven't found it to be worth shit. Tap fire doesn't do enough damage, two taps barely does enough, and then I have to reload the damn thing.
I've been finding the Trench Gun to be preforming much better than it and it lets me deal with Husks and Sirens fairly well. Husks actually take damage from it and I can decapitate them in as little as one shot while Sirens get stunned pretty easily, letting me close in for a solid headshot followup.
Until I hit 20, how should I be using the Microwave Gun vs. big guys? Aim for the head and mag dump with secondary peppered in for breathing room? Or should I /never/ 'spray' and only ever tap fire?

hard should actually be hard, but it isn't. Most games remove the name "easy" difficulty so that players don't feel bad for playing the lowest difficulty and being insulted for having to do so. The original killing floor had easy as well as hell on earth, so the hell on earth we have now is effectively insane from the old game.

That being said, I still feel that HoE should be extremely difficult for a group of 6 players who are experience, working together a lot, and are all level 25. As it stands now it's piss easy and that is infuriating.

At both the low level and the high level, the game is terribly imbalanced in terms of perk power and zed power. A good example of this is how the large zeds are just bullet sponges that take forever to die. A good chunk of a fleshpound's health would be removed in HoE in the first Kf, now the RPG, even level 25, takes 7-8 shots. This bullet sponge feeling is also reinforced by the fact that the fleshpounds are a lot chunkier and do less damage, making them feel like big balls of meat that charge you but not really hurt you. In the first killing floor, the fleshpounds were scary because of how fucking tall they were and their metallic voice. They did this weird quick shuffle animation which looked unnerving and really added to the idea that "oh fuck I better shoot this guy before he uses me to make meatloaf"

Ammo is limited in KF2 compared to KF1, simply because of the bullet sponge factor. However, berzerker is stronger than ever and medics can easily repair armor to the point where no one needs to buy armor anymore. So objectively the best line up is two medics and two berzerkers and guard one position. Berzerkes kill both trash and big zeds, and medic grenades kill trash quickly. A single goddam RPG should bring a fleshpound low, even on HOE. The fleshpounds should kill in one hit if you don't have armor like in KF1

A lot of the other perks are very different from their KF1 counterparts and have lost a lot of what made them require skill in the first place. Demos can now ignore sirens and ignore basic trash, when in KF1 they had to carefully manage their ammo but still do some trash clearing, as well as fight the siren and be careful to not fuck up. Now he can leave the trash to other perks that do it way better and ignore sirens, so we have a pretty fucking useless class on our hands that feels underwhelming to play. Firebug, who was previously amazing at killing trash but feared big zeds, does not have a lot of ammo for trash but fucks scrakes over. carefully tap your fire and you do double damage, clearing trash easily and taking out scrakes with ease, even on HoE

Support's ammo was nerfed and his best gun was nerfed, so he's useless as shit now . Commando lacks anything worthwhile.

Even hans, the new boss, is pretty shitty. The patriarch from the first game would heal himself 3 times, but you could stop his healing by shooting him and moving from your position. You had to weight the costs of losing your position benefits with preventing him from healing, a simple yet well done game design. For hans, he has explosive resistance and bullet resistance but no microwave resistance. Not to mention you can't hurt him unless he heals someone, and then you can start shooting him again. Basically get a berserker and two medics, 3 firebugs to kill him. Did I mention you usually have dosh enough to buy several microwave guns each at the end of HoE?

You end up kiting the fucking asshole which fucking sucks and isn't fun, just everything about this game is a complete fuck up besides performance and the sound design

Commando could handle a scrake solo pretty easily if he had to but if there is trash around him it could be difficult.

They split up 6 perks in a 6 player coop game, into 10 perks.
GS stole SS's Pistols
MA stole Berserker Melees
SWAT stole Medic's SMGs
They also introduced the Skill trees instead of only passives so it feels like you have a choice when in reality you only stick with 1 certain set of skills for each class the whole game anyways.
Like with Support, choosing between more weight and the measly 10% damage boost when he should have both as passive's and get skills that actually make you think.
Example: Repairing doors to be reused and re-welded or Welding armor on teammates.

When a pissed off scrake is on me and I use the microwave gun secondary, it DOES knock him back but he instantly teleports back to where he was and continues molesting me, even after like 6 secondary fires he's still on top of me.

It's not that the caulk n burn is that good, it's just that there's no better alternative. When I'm holding down a point with the team, there's usually someone else present to take care of anything big that doesn't survive past the doorway, like the husks and sirens.

In addition, once you get to 15 and have the zed shrapnel skill, it changes everything. Entire groups of zeds will explode at once just from burning a crawler. I didn't care for the caulk n burn either until I got that skill.

As for using the microwave gun, you can just tap fire the big zeds anywhere you want, you can even do it on the floor next to them since they both will do the same damage without the perk. You shouldn't ever be holding down the fire button, just spam your left mouse button.
