I feel the same. Blizzard acts like they're the only studio in the world. If I can't play Overwatch before 2016 than I'm just going elsewhere.
Despite people enjoying the beta I'm really sketched out by how lock and key it is. The game seems very polished, so what are they hiding? It seems like a Shadow of Mordor type situation where they're using nefarious tactics from keeping people to knowing the truth about the game prior to release, when in reality the truth is that the game is good.
Blizzard is making it very hard for me to give them my money, in a market that makes it very easy to take the money elsewhere. They've already lost an Origins edition purchase from me, I don't care enough anymore for the skins.

Nothing happened to DayZ, which is the problem. The game is still not finished and people won't care when it is anymore. That is a way more extreme situation than Overwatch though, since Overwatch is for sure coming out in at most 6 months. But I think this beta wave thing is taxing people more and more. Especially since there is no restriction on the beta and people who are /in/ can just play 24/7.
Simplest way to look at it, I think, is that by the time Overwatch comes out it won't really be a new hotness. I think it's guaranteed a decent sized playerbase, but it might not be guaranteed a huge rush of hype on it's release if they keep frustrating and pushing potential customers away.
I hope I don't sound too whiny, I just really think this game is special and want to play it. I don't see what Blizzard is trying to accomplish by keeping people out for so long.

Balancing and finding bugs is much easier with more people playing your game.
Most people can't even play with their friends so they can't form premades so people aren't min/maxing and tryharding their team combos so Blizzard can't even see what combinations of heroes are op or not very well.
There's just so many reasons to not completely lock out a 90% finished multiplayer PVP only game.

Yeah, I guess what worries me is that it seems like we've already seen everything. We know we've seen all the heroes that will be there on release, we know their abilities, personalities, backstories, etc. And there is an absolutely insane amount of gameplay footage out now thanks to the beta. Unless it has a large amount of new content by the time it's released, than the magic is already worn off for me. Will it still be fun? Yeah, it's a competitive shooter not a movie. Knowing everything won't ruin it. The magic has been dead in TF2 for years but I still enjoy it.
It just makes me less excited to play it, because I know I'll be late to the party. I'm not excited to find out what I can do with certain characters anymore, because there's so much footage of cool plays already.

Yeah, because the turret instantly locks onto you and will 9 times out of 10 kill you by itself as you try to teleport over to where they are sitting.
Both of them are weak when used around the map but they totally ruin the game when used on the final point. You can put down Bastion and turrets in extremely hard to reach places and the instant turning speed of the turret means you cannot flank. If they have a support sitting with them then no amount of shield pushing is ever going to even get you in the doorway.

People that haven't played the game don't seem to understand just how fucking ridiculous turret spam can be, it can completely shut down the final point on a map and removes all fun from the game. Hanamura is the worst but on just about every map you can set up a triangle of doom with turrets and the attacking team isn't going to get in unless they too resort to some really retarded strat like 6 monkeys.
What you have is both a character and map design issue, hopefully they don't just rework them and leave the maps in such poor condition.

Torb turrets instantly lock AND turn to face their target, it's why Tracer can't deal with them despite being the one character you'd imagine should be the best against them. If what you said were true, which it isn't, that's all the adjustment that would be needed.
We'll ignore that if the setup were really that unbeatable, a Symmetra is going to take out the turrets with her 150 damage stackable death orbs which, if it doesn't kill her target, will either make Bastion get up or do enough damage to Tjorb & his turret that a parah rocket / widow shot / junkrat spam / etc will finish it and Tjorb off faster than he can repair it and if he molten core's they'll just do it again when it wears off since Symm & co spam didn't require them to use any ults to apply that pressure

He's in this weird spot where his turret is so strong that that if he has anything else in his kit he'd be OP, and because his turret is the only strong thing about him he's garbage at all times except the final point of a map.
In the end though three tjorb's turret stacking can be solved with coordination from the enemy team. At these times it requires significantly more effort for the attacking team to win than it does the enemy team in this case, but thems the breaks.
Three Dvas ulting on top of one turret each would fix the problem :^) Once the turrets are down, Dva gets their suits back and it becomes a 3v6 because the enemy team has 3 useless Tjorb's who are sitting there trying to hammer their turrets back up

You need to pay attention, we aren't talking about ONE turret, we are talking about how insanely powerful they are when stacked.
Torbs turret will kill Tracer through her blinks because of how quickly it acquires targets, even then depending on how upgraded it is your ult probably won't even kill it or the Bastion it's sitting next to. Turrets and Bastion are insanely powerful when used to be annoying at the final point on a map, on most maps you literally have no way to deal with them because they can sit there forever being buffed and healed and never have to reposition. Due to again how fast Torbs turret can snap to targets you can't even do peek shots because it will whittle you down faster than you can damage it. As stated the only way to potentially counter this bullshit is to pull out a bullshit strat of your own and stack 5-6 of a single class and try to zerg the point. Hopefully you can understand that this isn't good game design.
This is why turrets in TF2 have a turning speed to reward good counterplay and flanking.
