Tunnel vision is one of the top things that scrubs do. Watch your opponent more than yourself. You're supposed to know your character enough that you don't need to focus all your attention on yourself. ESPECIALLY when recovering. Know your air speed/fall speed/recovery options/etc so you can watch your opponent's edgeguarding so you can avoid it instead of watching your positioning to know how to get back to stage.

Think of it like staring right in front of your car while driving on the highway versus looking further ahead to monitor for traffic and hazards.

Also, with some experience your vision and concentration can improve at least enough for you to be able to see your own character as a blurry silhouette, which is normally enough to space more or less decently.

You know what's really annoying, but I guess is hard to complain about?
People who rely solely on a punish game. I.E. Players who won't attack and dance around you, waiting for you to attack before attacking with not even a combo, but just an attack - and they'll do it over and over until you're at kill-percent.
I guess it's just playing a defensive, but it's really, really boring to fight. It's not even a great strategy.

I dont know, but it's all Cake does with G&W. Just walks around the whole stage until you approach, then goes for a grab, then follow ups for 40% damage and that's it.
When nobody does anything he gets tired of waiting and goes for a dash attack, which you just shield and punish yourself.
The whole match is like that. Most frustrating person to fight.
The good thing is that he lacks any understanding of Smash 4 ledge mechanics and always goes under the ledge to regrab it twice, leading to easy kill and shorter matches seeing how light G&W is.

He was doing the dancing game a lot and took my first stock, where he really got ultra-defensive. I managed to take his first stock and do enough damage back to take the win, but he really just...moved. Rarely attacks, just jumped everywhere, rolled away, ran away and when it came to time, jumped and spammed air-dodge which really didn't help him out.
