When he learned that he lives a second time, Varric is going through the shock and misunderstanding of what he is and who is Hawke for him. At first, he pounces on him in an attempt to hurt him, but this impulse turns into a passion, and they make love. Soon Varric feels able to understand everything, and, saying only "thank you", leaves his home, and Hawke realizes he is pregnant again.

Alright guys, I want to play through the expansion packs for NWN with a single character. What's the best build for most enjoyment? When I played the OC I always felt like I was missing out on something. I first tried a dwarf warrior but he kept failing persuasion checks and wasn't very fun to play as. I tried a mage focused on necromancy but he kept getting one shotted. I tried a rogue but she was awful at combat and there's so many trash encounters that it got very boring to play. I've pretty much given up on the original campaign now but I want to play the expansions as I've heard they were good. What's a good class, race and build for that? I want to be a steaming hot elf who can both talk her way out of trouble and still be able to deal with the combat in a fun manner.
The two classes I've considered is either playing as a paladin or as a bard. Would that work? Any suggestions at all would be most welcome.

Spellcasters are kind of shit compared to fighters in NWN, so avoid bard. I'd say go with paladin if you have trouble with dying and persuasion checks -- they're sturdy, have high CHA and persuade asa primary class skill.

I don't remember if that feature is present in the OC, but you pretty much can't steal anything in the expansions because that gives you chaotic points and a paladin must stay lawful good. You generally have to be consistent with your alignment in dialogs too.

At least 16 charisma, about 14 strength and constitution, 10-14 wisdom (depends on how much spellcasting you're planning to do). Intelligence is the least important for a paladin, I think. You can get it to 9 or something. Charisma and strength are the most important stats, look out for items that increase them as you play.

Human is probably the best for any class because of extra skill point bonus, but I think an elf or a half elf would work too since they don't have a penalty to their charisma. I know half-orcs have it for sure, not sure about dwarves.

I remember that feat that adds a bonus to your attack based on your charisma being useful, there's also a bunch of extra undead turning stuff, but I can't remember their names off the top of my head. There are a lot of guides for pretty much every class though, you should check those out. Blind fight is useful for any class though, I always take in NWN and NWN2.

Well, Shadows of Undrentide is nothing special other than some funny moments with Deekin, but it's still worth playing because your character carries over to the next expansion. Hordes of the Underdark is really good though even with the dated visuals, you can see a lot of Gaider in the setting and the plot.

Fug, Bioware games used to be pretty much free from grinding. How's the main story then? Is the villain good? Does it have lots of twists and turns? Is it something to write home about at all?

The main story is rather standard. There is some time travelling if you pick the mage path, that's about the only memorable thing. The combat gets tedious fast if you insist on playing on nightmare or something because of all the damage sponges, which makes the repetitive nature of the combat just too prominent.

I remember reading an interview with some older devs (Gaider or Laidlaw) and they talked about how they think that initiating dialogues yourself instead of having companions approach you (like in NWN or BG) allows for more player character freedom. That is me. I was initially being cynical and sarcastic, but I blame myself for everything besides sex and attraction. I don't wear makeup so I stay ugly (if it would even make a difference), I can't hide my melancholia well and it makes me very tired, I allowed myself to become an introvert and stopped going outside after i lost all my friends due to other people. That's all I can think of on the spot. I can't say I haven't tried, I exercised and lost weight, got haircuts, was nice, showered everyday, but nothing seemed to change in the romance department and maybe that was my personality, something I don't even understand myself. I gave up after a while and keep to myself unless they are course mates and I like to offer people help with their assignments.
I've resigned myself to dying alone and a failure in all except video games. Cheers.

About to do a baldur's gate series playthrough because I haven't done one in like 8 years. I want to min max the shit out of it and go full cheese because I was not into minmaxing then.
I have a berserker cleric as the protag and was thinking of adding a kensai/mage because that is the only other cheese class I can remember. Kensai/thief looks much better for ToB.
Any other very cheesy class combos? And is there a good guide for using spell casters properly, this stuff is patchy all over the place mostly in old forums with heavily biased rants rather than information.

Kensai/mage has time stop, kensai/thief has OP traps, depends on what looks like more fun to you. You can always have all three, though it gains XP so slowly it's only possible to play if you go solo.

Fighter/thief/mage multiclass is also quite cheesy but has the same slow leveling problem as kensai/thief/mage.

I don't know of one, http://www.gamefaqs.com/pc/258273-baldurs-gate-ii-shadows-of-amn/faqs/11334 seems to have a good rundown of the spells but it doesn't really tell you how to play one. Just buff yourself up before every fight, learn which spells strip other mages' defenses, and enjoy your contingencies, time stop, alacrity, and deva summoning later on?

So I was trying to keep it to 3 PC's so I was thinking Berserker/Cleric, Kensai/Mage and Archer/Cleric. Very strong tank that can dish out a lot of damage, an incredibly high damage melee with spell cheese and a druid/cleric with great auto attacks.
The only thing is that during BG1 this leaves me with good tank/dps, good dps with no armor and a good ranged. Should I add in a fourth that will round out the team early and late in the series or fill in with NPCs?
Also I just realized I don't have any good thiefing. Are warrior mage thieves good and is there any benefit to just doing mage thief other than faster leveling?

Do anyone else here feel weird about David Gayder? I mean on one hand he's an okay writer, he made some cool mods and at times it seems like he genuinely cares and that it's just not a job for him. personally, i liked it more than 2 (not that that's hard). there's a lot of stuff to do, but sometimes it feels like a single player MMO because a lot of the quests don't really have much impact on the main plot. if you like post-EA Bioware games at all then Inquisition is pretty good.

Anybody who likes exploring and/or "questing" wouldn't have a problem with this at all. I know I didn't, I'm used to it. It's how I was getting 100% on maps and quests in WoW. Inquisition was nothing compared to what I used to be doing.

It's nothing wrong with it by itself but he seems to think that games with tumblr approved writing and trash romances are somehow better for it. He used to write fun stuff that wouldn't have been out of place during a PnP RPG session but nowadays he writes awkward yaoi and bishounen romances whilst wearing problem glasses and I'm not sure if he has noticed the change himself.
