Can anyone care to tell me if im right about the story?
The only thing i wonder is if their were hunts before the plague.
I assume their were always beast before the plague because of the description on crow woman's outfit.
Says she comes from a really old traditional form of beast hunters.
I think the church always had hunters, but the plague was brought on by their sins which led to the endless nightmare and gehrman going into the dream realm.
From what i have gathered from those who have finished the dlc.
The clock tower is a portal to the past and how the plague came about
Marie despised what they did and took her life
Gerhman signs contract with moon precense to creates a dream realm for remaining hunters( a sort of safe purgatory for hunter) and the real world is where you find the workshop and the actual doll of marie.
So the game takes place in the real world and results of the churches sin whil you travel to the nightmare realm of how it all started nad the game ends in gerhman purgatory.
Someone tell me i have the gist of the game down please.
This dlc has completed BB for me and i feel that all of us are satisfied after getting this dlc.

God, Maria fight is so hype. First attempt got her yo 10%, used all my bullets and vials, would've had her but 3 of the times I managed to parry her, I couldn't get my riposte to work and it just slashed her a few times. That music though

It looks really good in PvP. If it gets interrupted mid-combo or trades R1 while transformed, it's gonna have a bad time. Otherwise, just relentless fucking pursuit in transformed mode, running R1, starter R1, and R2 all look great for chasing/roll-punishing. UTF it has good range, decent speed. Its TF>UTF attack will be great for backing off once you've run out of stamina. UTF, roll > roll R1/transform attack mix-ups.
I've been using it in PvE, and it's extremely fun. Not quite as capable of auto-piloting as saw cleaver/spear, but still pretty fucking strong. TF Hitboxes are better than they appear, UTF cleaves lots of stuff very easily with its big sweeps.
I think it's a very good weapon.

Doing a SKL run just for DLC area and haven't played this game in months. So far I've beat Cleric Beast, Father G, Amelia, and Witches. I've done Papa Gs side quest with his daughter and already helped Eileen fight Henryk. I'm at Cainhurst right now before I head off to the SoY boss fight. Anything I missed or should note before making it go all blood moon?

One of the first person who summoned me in the DLC was a dude with a rusty looking sword and shield. He promptly died to the rolling rock before the chapel in the first area.
Are those weapons he had that early on in the DLC? I only found the fire hammer and the pizza cutter so far before Ludwig.

I found a blood gem with +19% physical attack, but -9% attack vs kin.
Does this translate into +10% against kin, or does the curse override the buff?

25/50 STR/ARC is my favorite character and i have 100s of hours on it, but it's true that for the hybrid weapons in the DLC the other way would be better. you can kind of use Moonlight, but you can't use Amy-arm or Fire-hammer.
desu i'd just make a 50 ARC build and get the min stats for your favorite weapons. but Whirligig saw should be one of your favorite weapons, so this implies at least 16 STR anyway, and at that point you might as well go to at least 20 for Wheel

I'm getting fucking rekt by Ludwig on ng++++ I tried all day yesterday and I can sometimes get him to his second stage but the HP and damage becomes too goddamn overwhelming. The summon helps sometimes but at other times she just dies almost instantly.

arcane is FUN AS HELL but i think a lot of people fuck it up by trying to scrape by with minimum stats so they can get 70 arc or invade at low levels. this is a build that with maybe 13 points of investment into STR/SKL can use 14 fucking weapons just by swapping gems around. and some of those weapons (specifically wheel/whirligig saw) have very interesting interactions with arcane gems
you can cosplay almost anything, you can cheese almost any boss in the game using the right elemental damage, and at the end of the day if you need to be PVP COMPETITIVE or w/e the fuck, 20/50 wheel with +flat arcane gems is a perfectly fine pvp build

I also found that the saif is also amazing, the extended to un-extended is fucking amazing and the lizza cutters L2 can stunlock really good. The narukyo katana dagger thing is pretty OP, the swing speed is almost BoM mid combo tier and it does a fuckton of damage with even like 25%-26% gems whixch is what I used. Im gonna see how that pick is when I can upgrade it. Looks promising.

RRT is best for physical and arcane damage.
For bolt/fire gems, RRW/Lost, depending on a lot of variables. I made a guide about a week ago explaining optimal gems for various AR levels and damage types and, basically, Lost is usually the best for bolt, and RRW is usually the best for fire. BUT this may have changed since the buff to arcane scaling gems. Also RRW is only the best for fire if you super duper optimize your gems. I'm talking 3x 24.8% fire with +15 flat fire secondary. Otherwise you want Lost, because getting a 27.2% fire gem from watchers is less of a hassle than getting a +15 fire secondary abyssal from Watchdog, imo.
Lost is also the best for Nourishing gems, which is most notable for Tonitrus. Also OK on Wheel. Maybe good with some of the DLC stuff. Time will tell.

not true, common mistake
crescent gems can't get +% attack versus open foes, which is practically much better for damage than +15 bolt or w/e. and it is extremely easy to farm nourishing radials with +%attack versus open foes off of gargoyles. so you can very easily get a radial that has practically better damage than a perfect abyssal crescent, even though the gem level is lower

if you get the chance try +%arcane and +arcane scaling and see how it affects your damage
i tested the regular melee today and showed that % works better for flat than regular attacks, even though your AR goes down, because of attack multipliers (which are huge, like 2x, because the kos parasite has "artificially low AR").
but the +flats might be better for the L2 since it's a multi-hit attack

Pro tip, the parasite has a high multiplier on all of it's attacks, which don't effect flat damage gems
Use two radial cold scaling gems instead, it'll show for less AR on the screen, but you'll gain a lot of damage because of the attack mulitpliers, even on the L2
Tested myself and got about 50-100 damage increase on most attacks in pvp when compared to a flat bonus loadout of about 350 AR to a sclaing loadout of about 300 AR

19.3% from gargoyles. rom is 19.5%, because of the penalty from his half-curse. so if you want to fight the hardest FRC boss for .2% damage go for it
in practice though you should do the gargoygles because you will easily get a perfect secondary, whereas Rom will take many attempts. given how hard Rom is i think you're nuts if you try to farm him for 50+ kills

scaling doesn't "cap at S", it's just additive. so the relative value of scaling diminishes when the weapon has higher scaling to begin with. but this is counterbalanced by the fact that
1. Kos Parasite has a HUGE attack multiplier, and
2. there are no arcane abyssal radials. the best you can get are 23% gems from bone ash hunters

They don't. They're the cursed tempering damp blood gems you get from the Winter Lanterns (glowing brain things) in the Nightmare of Mensis. The best ones increase your damage by 19.8% and they make NG+ much less spongy in its damage intake.

Yeah, +22.5 scaling gems from elder, you could also get a +15 flat physical as a secondary effect for a little more kick
After the scaling buff there's really no reason to not have a stockpile of those on your arcane character for every weapon, for most weapons they'll give more AR than the best elemental radials

Talk to the bloathead girl strapped in a chair in Research Hall. She'll ask you to get her brain fluid. Fluid is dropped by bodiless bloatheads. One of them is on a platform in the center of the Research Hall, guarded by an NPC hunter. The other is up on the rafters. After you get the brain fluids, give her one. She'll give you some blood in exchange. Use the blood, and reload the area. She'll keep giving you blood for a while. Continue to use the blood and reload the area until she asks for more fluid. Give her the 2nd fluid you have. Then repeat the blood/reload process. Eventually she'll turn into a bodiless bloathead. When she does, kill her, take her brain fluid, then give it back to her (she'll respawn after a few seconds, as all bodiless bloatheads do). She'll give you the Milkweed rune.
