You need to kill the Blood-starved Beast and then use the elevator to the Old Church Workshop or whatever. Then just move across the small bridge to the crumbling tower, and either to the left or right you'll find a place to drop down to. Follow the new path around until you enter the turret and drop further.
You're given the Firesprayer after killing Gascoigne, I believe.

Talk to her with brain fluids, she's take one and tell you she was a healer or w/e. Go back to the dream talk to her again. If it doesn't

It took me like 40 hours to reach the halfway mark of Dark Souls 1 on my first try, but that's also the moment when the whole fucking thing clicked.
You're looking for the rhythm of the game.
When to dodge, when to parry, when to strike, theres a pattern to it all you gotta familiarize yourself with.
First with one enemy, then with two, and so on.
One you get that you're pretty much never going to get hung up on any of them ever again.
You may die a few times to an area, but never stuck.

Long story short I haven't had internet access at home for a while so have been playing Bloodborne unpatched, and certain things that are supposed to unlock or happen have not, such as the old woman never showing up in the cathedral, the whore's baby scene not happening she just disappeared leaving me with 2 cords and, my actual problem, Henryk's outfit never unlocking.
I imagine, being at the end of the game, the first two are fucked, but does anyone know if I will get the outfit once it's patched?

You know, its weird. The game doesn't give us enough reason to be sympathetic for the village. I literally don't care. In context, I never really got the sense that Hunters had such a strong sense of guilt either.
They gave us only a little context and no hook for the massacre and subsequent torture/experimentation to have any effect on us.
Holy fucking shit, the Orphan of Kos is one of the craziest fights in the entire series. Pretty much every fight in this expansion has had me hating the shit out of the boss while I fight it, and then thinking "Wow, that was incredible and I'd love to do it again"

At The Mountains of Madness was supposed to be made by Del Toro but failed for two reasons. One, Hollywood is shit and doesn't want to take a risk on anything, and two, Prometheus is a shitty ripoff of the story except with dumb black good and characters who act like retards. It's also difficult to depict Lovecraft's horror because it's based on terrors that are indescribable to the point of madness. So I've read a bit on the last thread and people were saying that:
1. The healing church used Ebrietas' blood (pale blood/ashen blood) for blood ministration and that is the reason people turned into beasts.
2. That's not the case because there are kin enemies around her in a cave, that it caused to mutate.
I always thought that pale blood was the reason you turn into beasts, since you seek it to:
TRANSCEND - Theology. (of the Deity) to be above and independent of (the universe, time, etc.).
THE HUNT - the act of exterminating beasts to receive the blood.
Since it was the secret you were seeking from the blood, the secret of the church that they hid in form of Ebrietas. Since they made contact.
And that is the reason why Laurence left, he was ambitious with the practice of the second, which is the hunt, forsaken the "seeking the pale blood" and turned into a beast getting hooked on the hunting for blood.
And the reason why there are kin enemies around Ebrietas is not because they were in contact with her blood.
That connects back with the secret of the Church, that is they worship Oedon the formless. He's sort of like a god of this verse so he is omnipresent.
But when you have another cosmic being around him, or alternatively manage to make contact with it, which church failed, but Rom succeeded.
Then his presence gets amplified and he becomes visible in form of phantasms that turn the area into lumenwood.
In case of Rom. he had a strain of old blood in him, being involved with the church and the hunt business, that's why he turned into an abomination of both.

You're right, but I fear that the Elder Things would look goofy. I think that Del Toro could create a groovy shoggoth. Innsmouth would probably be the best candidate to be made due to its relatively "simple" depiction of Lovecraftian themes. It's also his most powerful story, in my opinion, considering the fact that it injects Lovecraft's own fear of suffering the mental deterioration that his parents did via inheritance much like the genetic inheritance of the Deep Ones fishhood.

Shadow Over Innsmouth also contains pretty much the only action scene he ever wrote. I definitely think it's his best, it's scary, has great atmosphere, doesn't slog like some of his stuff does, and subverts a lot of his cliches.
It also includes the Great Ones without directly focusing on them, using the Innsmouth folk and the cult the way he did was a great way to put Elder God shenanigans on a more relatable level.

Well just don't forget, we have have Weapon Arts and Charge Attacks now and we're back to complete freedom in terms of combo strings. DaS2 removed R2-R1 strings. DaS3 brings them back and improves them.
The Legion Scimitars in the Stress Test were a fucking pleasure to use. Truly a whirlwind of blades. Every attack flowed seemlessly into any other and there was so many attacks once you took into account dual/single wielding them.
I'm cautiously optimistic. So long as there's lots of good sht like the Axe and Scimitars, I know I'll have fun. The fightclubs in the test were REALLY fun. It's not BB, but it IS better than DaS1/2

Dash forwards and behind him. Some of his attacks have enough cooldown to backstab him. You can parry him (with the blunderbuss, pistol will shoot past him).
When he starts jumping up in phase 3 and throwing his testicles at you it will break lock on. Lock onto him in midair, then dash towards him repeatedly to get under him and you'll dodge them.

It needs end-game gems to really shine. +%physical/+flat arcane gems are good on it. The +flat arcane applies to every tick of its multi-hit attacks, which fucking demolishes anything in PvE that isn't highly arcane-resistant, and makes its tricking rolling attack one of the GOAT PvP moves.

You get gems in chalice dungeons. Invasions are stacked against the invader because the expectation is that the invader will be experienced with PvP and have a min-maxed build, while the PvE'ers will be random fucks on their first playthrough.
If people are gunspamming you, dodge until they run out of bullets, because you really cannot handle a 2v1 or 3v1 while getting gunspammed.

It's low enough that it can invade 80 (largely irrelevant nowadays, nobody stops at 80 anymore), and just outside the range where it can invade 150. I dont think you understand how From's relationship with sony and bamco worked here.
Bloodborne exists just because Sony wanted another Fromsoft exclusive, and Miyazaki didnt want to simply make Demon's 2.
Bamco's only real involvement in DaS2 was fucking up development while Fromsoft's leadership fucked it up more by removing experienced members to work on bloodborne. Bamco eventually didnt like the changes they were making, and had them start over to be more like the first game, and most likely made them release it a gen early to not compete with Bloodborne since they dont get money from that game, with the downgrade being a possible result of that

Oh god I know that feeling damn well. After I was done with bloodborne in april, I tried sotfs and jesus fucking christ. It legit felt like I was playing ps2 shit. The lighting is puke-inducing, the textures are all flat. The armors are disgusting, cloth looks like fucking SHIT.

this is my first Soul-like game and I just kinda eye-balled my way through leveling up. it appears by some miracle i have arrived at the standard VIT/END levels, but I have been all over the place where I see a new weapon and want to use it. (see my bloodtinge being high enough for the Evelyn to deal decent damage, but also having arcane high because I though the Tonitrius was just too cool to not use and that high arcane scaling on LHB.)

Agreed. I love how the enemies were coming at me rapid fire, just when I think "this smells of ambush" I turn around to dodge just in time. When you can dodge and kill multiples smoothly it just feels so good, especially if you do it without knowing about it before.
Reminds me of the first time I played BB, going down the street, and dodging the sneak attack off of pure reaction the first time, that's when I really started to click with BB.
And this game just has such a good feel of being in the zone. Soloing Laurence today felt amazing. This game is 10/10 right now.
