CIG are really cagey about how far they're willing to take the Sci-Fi elements. There's a couple of mentions of spooky derelicts with monsters in them but they never really give any details as to what we might find. They'll probably endeavor to stay very far away from more conventional things like aliens that reanimate the dead or violent parasitic organisms ala Alien. Backers prompt CIG on things like that, along with space whales, from time to time but they usually shy away from the topic.
One of the biggest gaps in the fiction is figuring out exactly what (non-player) entities pose a threat on the "Eastern" fringe of UEE space, past Terra and closer to the Xi'an/Banu border region. NPC Pirates are surely along for the ride but the Banu don't seem to have any much interest in fighting (or piracy) and the Xi'an are in a perpetual state of detente with the UEE anyway.
The Kr'thak have been mentioned, and we know almost nothing about them aside from the fact that the Xi'an have been fighting them in what they call the "Spirit Wars" for centuries. For all we know they're non-humanoid bug monsters, but they're a bit outside of the purview of our experience at the moment.
I expect CIG won't bother with making big moves like adding more science fantasy type stuff to the setting until after they've hammered out a complex Human Empire with distinct regional demographics, complicated political situations, and an on-going conflict with the savage aliens beating down their gates. Anything outside of that paradigm should be post-launch events that blindside players and put them in situations they could not have foreseen or prepared for adequately, which would amplify the player's interactions with aforementioned creepy alien monsters.

The only 'stations' are Oliser, the shipping hub and Outpost Keerah (place to get armed up).
The place with the gravity generator room is Gold Horizon, a map from the infinitely delayed Star Marine.

Assuming you're talking about the Scmitar, yes, it looks bad. But Functionality matters more to me than looks, so if Ship A looks better than ship B, but ship B can do the same job better but doesn't look good, ship B is the obvious choice. The redeemer looks.... slightly better than the Scimitar, but the scimitar has more functionality, making it the better choice option imo.

If the Gladius wings were capable of folding, many more than this would be able to fit inside, but it doesn't seem like as much space as I originally thought, hence why folding wings are superior. Even if you can stuff 5 Gladii into the hangar, that number can be higher if it wasn't so wide while in a landing configuration. The same with the Hornet series, the Gladiator, and presumably the Sabre. I'm not aware of any carrier-based benefits to non-folding wings.

I don't understand the purpose of pirating regular old cargo. Hull series ships sell bulk materials, so a single crate of it will be mostly worthless without the other 400 crates to make a net profit. Pirates are gonna have to find ways to steal entire ships to make it worthwhile.
This alone means that you need a Cutlass, Redeemer, or scimitar (any ships with a bottom docking collar) to board + a boarding party to take the ship. Pirating is going to suck ass. Might as well just take a bunch of friends and destroy shit just for the hell of it.

This is my story
I woke up on my bund on board oliver station wiped the sleep from my eyes my stomach still churning from the cheap Chinese takeaway that I had grabbed last night.
I checked my mobiglass and saw a. Job listing for help turning on local comm arrays. I headed down to the docking control and called up my constellation andromida. Even though the rest of my crew were on shore leave I decided this is a job I could handle myself.
I headed to the airlock and out to. My ship the cold blackness of space all around me, I am glad I spent extra on the heating elements for my Eva suit. I quickly borded my baby and cycled the engines bringing them to life. I slowly clears the docking platform and avoided the stations rings as I headed out into the big black. I activated my Nan computer and plotted a quantum jump to the nearest comm array. When I arrived I found a number of local security ships orbiting the station. As I got closer I was startled by the scream of contact coming from my computer. I looked at the scan and saw a number of pirate craft had just jumped in. The ships started shooting at the local defence ships but two of the turned and charged at me weapons blazing. After a tense few. Minutes I was able to take out the faster and more maneuverable ships but it was a tough fight without a gunner. Once they were dispatched I was asked by the security force to Eva over to the station to start repairs. I managed to get the Connie close enough and headed to the airlock. After a short space walk I managed to get the station back on line and started my Eva back.
Upon reaching my Connie I was struggling to get into position to enter the airlock. As I struggled to get back on board. While I was distracted I did not see the other pilot that had floated over and drawn his weapon. I manged to pull out my gun but he had the drop on me. After a short firefight I woke up back in olisar station in the medical bay. Thank goodness for their great. Medical facilities.......

Higher potential, newer tech, longer life and usability. New socket also helps, so when purchasing a motherboard, you don't have to purchase 2 year old tech for the rest of your equipment.
The tests favor the i7, but only marginally, there's no reason to get it and have to also get out-dated secondary equipment.

Yes, even tho i7 has a higher stock clocks, it has a much smaller headroom for OC, so in the end i5 might even win in single-threaded applications(because of a newer architecture, higher instructions per clock, etc) or at least be very close. So HT is the only real advantage of i7.

You have 25 ship spaces for a group to go into battle against god-tier Vanduul that are a single jump away (All fighters, and their largest unit would be the Void bomber). Organize your team!
rule 1: no javelins allowed (too OP †bh)
rule 2: max Idri can be 1 or none
rule 3: feasibility. So no "I'll just grab 25 corvettes :^)" since that's infeasible. Also, nothing larger than the Idris. This is a flimsier rule, but you fags know what I mean.
Prerequisites: Corvette unconfirmed, so if you want them imagine a ship 130m long with a few S6 turrets (dual S4 guns) and missiles, so it's on the lighter, more nimble side. Also, fuel need not be a consideration for any ships. Assume that if a person ejects, they die. Lastly, Constellations have no snub fighters.
To start us off, I'll create what I think is an ideal battlegroup, given these reasonable conditions.

3x Crucible
8x Super Hornet
4x Gladius
4x Gladiator
4x Vanguard

Exploring the derelict station is spooktastic. The FPS is a fun gankfest. The space combat is the star citizen space combat.

This to be quite honest, family. The more you have at the start, the less you can earn in the long run, thus lessening your experience. Think of this: by selling some pixels over the internet, you can eat some really good food, pay all bills, 2 months rent, and have some money left over.
So you have more money to do what you need to, and the game will be enjoyable for a longer period of time. Perhaps keep an Andromeda to skip all the pooraura grinding, but anything beyond that is a bit much.

CH sticks / throttles are good, and one of the only throttles with an analog thumb stick, should you choose to bind strafe to that. Solid as shit and workable, but they look like toys from the 90s.
