I personally love the game since I pvp the shit out of it. The pvp is a lot more engaging and infinitely more indepth than most current MMO pvp.
Since it plays out more like a Fighting Game (a lot of fight knowledge, match up knowledge, mind games, and tec-ing / tec-chasing)

Anyone will tell you melee1 (monk in every case there is one) has the easiest role in A4S. Being able to do a rotation requires barely any skill at all, especially when there are no positionals for the first half of the fight. You stand in one place and hit 8 buttons for 6 minutes, then strafe left and right and hit 8 buttons for another 6 minutes, while everyone else does the fight for you.

one good aspect about K-MMOs is their action combat system. It's a shame that ffxiv had already been in development/released before the trend took off. It could be much more successful had it replaced the outdated unwieldy gcd system with a more fast paced one.
On the other hand, the action combat system and pvp can only carry games like tera or bns so much. They get old after a while, especially when there is usually some fotm classes that just steamroll others.

When it comes to A4S. When you're saccing (read: if you're clearing A4S at all really) there's always gonna be the one melee who doesn't sac at all. Whether that's MNK, DRG, or NIN, any one of them could "shit out DPS" but the thing is that MNK would get fucked over harder by killing itself than DRG or NIN would. And after that you have jobs like BLM who put out melee-tier DPS on every other fight but BLM is never going to get to sit and do their rotation, and only their rotation for 13 straight minutes.

I'm not exactly comfortable with MCH and my first clear was my first time going in as MCH so I was fumbling around a lot. I generally hold my CDs and off GCDs for the dolls or to dump damage on the main body. As for any time wasted between GCDs I was either dealing with carnage tethers or some other mechanic. Been working on my Atma Relic on my Paladin, yes I know PLD is the shittiest tank right now.
Almost completely finished with the books, made it to the last page of it with the dungeons, enemies and Leves.
