If the EIC accepts their terms, they lose some land for a buffer state. Next I'm going to make the event for the average conflict, which should be a bigger war, with a bigger cost for peace

You can still do that, I had Austria in my sphere and got a pop-up about Austria wanting to get annexed in like 1897.
Not sure if that only happens if Austria doesn't have Hungary. I don't think so, since Austria in my game had significant portions of Italy and bits of the Balkans, so it's probably due to "you have Austria in your sphere" rather than "you have Austria in your sphere and [X]"

There is literally nothing wrong with raiding Christians if you want to convert later, after a good 100 years nobody will remember your warmongering, and the damage you do will be healed a dozen times over.
Raid, expand, conquer your core territories and then take a Christian woman as a concubine so you can convert through the event window.

I have a few questions about DH, specifically Kaiserreich.
In terms of German strategy, should I put all of my IC into Consumer Goods and try to rush them down to ~5% to maximize my IC as quickly as possible, or do I want to put a minimum of like 20 IC or something into Production to try getting more INF divisions out?
Second, how does fleet comp work? In a trial game I did earlier, I played as Germany and the UK fucked my fleets up just by having like 50 ships to a fleet, with a bunch of mixed capitals. Is that a valid strategy? Does mixing carrier/capital ships not suck in DH like it does in HOI3?

Bourbonnais and Bretagne were independent when I took their converted provinces.
Luxembourg got converted through an event.
Franche-Comte is the only province in my territory that was converted directly by a CoR and it borders one of them.

Yes a huge fleet that's over the stacking limit will still fuck up a smaller one. I don't know exactly how navies work but yes carriers mixed with capitals can work.
