according to the source, it's hardware over software. but I severely doubt sega will be producing their own console given their track record and the fact they don't have the manpower to stock their own console. it would be Wii, but worse.
unless of course it's a handheld, which they could possibly pull off. as the only major competition right now is Nintendo and Sega has always been better at platformers and the like.
there's also a chance that it's a steam machine. though the dev kit aspect puts this down a lot.

It'll either be a new arcade machine, the most likely possibility, or it'll be a mobile device of some kind. Even mobile would be improbable, but it's more possible than a console.

This. Most people forget how big SEGA still is in arcades. Understandable, considering how much they've died out in the West, but SEGA's probably the biggest player in the market. Even when they aren't making games, most of the tech in the cabinets is still theirs. Plus there're things like Purikura machines, which goes all the way back to when they merged with Rosen Enterprises in the 50s, where SEGA is also getting creative.

There's a reason they merged with Sammy, and it was really more about getting even more of the arcade playing field. As much as pachinko sales were holding the company up when game sales were dipping, Sammy was still the much smaller part of the company until they restructured and put all their arcade-type businesses together.

No, but seriously though, I think Ian mentioned at one point that he wants to bring her back sometime because of the positive fan reaction, but I'm having a bit of hard time figuring how he's gonna do it. She's not a drifter or a professional hero like so much of the rest of the cast is, so she can't just pop in wherever there's trouble. Hell, fun as she was to have around, she even seemed kinda shoehorned in the Championship arc. She'd need some kind of reason or excuse to be there. I guess she's been established as something of a foil to Breezie, but I'd be kinda disappointed if she only ever got to show up to serve that role.

"Won" is a strong word. Legally speaking he and Archie reached a settlement and the case never went to court. For fans of the characters who are sad to see them taken out of the comics, then he won in the sense of getting control of those characters. But he's also blacklisted himself for the entire comic industry; the court case alone was enough for any company to be wary of hiring him, and his words and actions during and after have only cemented him as dangerous to work with.
